This is exactly what's wrong with the rabid core of Bannonites and Trump supporters. They aren't motivated by anything truthful or logical or factual. He’s hedging. There’s a realistic possibility Moore could still win. If he does, he’s not going to work with McConnell. If he loses, then the Party has distanced itself. But the fact the NRSC cut ties so quickly on Thursday suggests they knew about Moore’s past and that things were about to get much worse:
