Will Whittle be around next year?

I can't find hope in that email. To me it sounds like they can only fulfill the current payroll. Aren't they two behind?

I don’t know who the internal leak is, but I wish they would at least delete people’s names. I think it’s disgraceful to post the names of parents to be ridiculed here. You should be ashamed of yourself.

“Leadership” accepting payment with so much rank-and-file financial uncertainty is antithetical to the definition of “leadership.”

I agree with you, this whole thread is disgraceful.

Nahh. the people who send their kids to Whittle are the disgrace. But take heart parents! The level of disgrace was less at the beginning.
First year (the "FOUNDING") families are the least disgraced by attending. Big splash, big buzz, big building, much swag, much disrupt, promising faculty, etc.
Second year families had a chance to talk to current students (the FOUNDING FAMILIES) and do more diligence. You screwed up, and your kid will definitely have to repeat a year, but this is the cost of taking a gamble. You lost this hand, but the game is long.
Third year (current) families: You have no excuse. The ship was clearly listing and taking on water, all the deck chairs are jumbled against the rails on the side, people are in the water, flares have been launched. And you still got on. Disgrace.

Big surprise that nowhere in the letter is the acknowledgment of all of the lawsuits and liens placed against Whittle for non-payment, including the security staff.

I can't upvote this enough. Perfectly put.

And to the person/s concerned about selected individuals being ridiculed - being closely associated with a well known grifter and serial capital vaporizer tends to have that effect

Your post reminds me of the culture at Theranos where anyone who dared question Queen Elizabeth was immediately branded as clueless or disloyal or worse

One of the two “ investor/partners “ is stepping into the role of missing “ investor/partner” to cover part of upcoming expenses while we try to raise some more money —but only some of the immediate expenses are covered by this “ investor partner “ and the rest of the immediate expenses are pledged. Phew.

The way CW is sooo thankful of the three saviors, makes me think that they, and they alone, put up the money. They prolly didn't want to be called out for that (for obvious reasons), but it reads like that. Esp since no actual source of funding is specifically identified.

Anyone else notice this:
"With the urging and help of Michael, Paul, and Carl, the leadership team will find ways to be more efficient on our expenses."

Also makes me think that they put up the money. Why else would the three be admonishing CW on expenses? Why else would they be that deep into what the expenses even are? But, if you were putting up the money, you would be very interested in what the expenses were, and minimizing them.

So that's where the funds are. Still no impartial outside investor. Just some more believer parents.

Also amused that the great CW, soooo experienced in education.... the great CW is taking advice on how to manage expenses from these parents. I thought he was the senior exec? And wait, he wasn't already running the leanest operation possible? How can there be excess spending in the system NOW. That is INSANE!

Names of investors are appropriate and relevant under the circumstances. It may be they are funding through their cos and taking a large tax write off. But why? Is there a share of school pulls through, soft landing for the children after the school folds, and tax write off in the meantime? Not confidence-building.

Stick a fork in em. They’re done over there at Whittle

Baffle them with BS! The Whittle mantra. It seems even murkier - and highly unlikely that the "investor/partner" is the one covering some of the immediate expenses. Instead, as others have noted, it seem very much that the three saviors are the ones who dipped into their checking accounts, and that too - only for part of the money needed

The icing on the Whittle Baffle Cake is that he goes on to say that they have part of the money needed for the next 30 days (not all of it), but the big transaction may be 45 days away. Setting the stage perfectly for his next note in 29 days saying they need just a bit more money because the money is just 16 days away. Haven't heard this from him before, have we.....?

the 3 families that are the stogies also have kids that are seniors and are waiting for college acceptances. I am not sure how many seniors are left, but I do know they are the parents.

What the 3 families should have done, is hire the teachers to work with their kids and make sure they graduate, instead of tossing good money after bad. Although, some of those families have so much money 1M here or there doesn't matter to them.

Oh, and Danielle Braynt was fired in Nov because she spoke up about not being paid. FYI - I pulled my kid in Jan. and he is so far behind I am not sure what I am going to do. Summer school probably.
