Another ICE Shooting in Minnesota

I mean, obviously, if you hear gunfire behind you, you have to shoot the guy in front of you already on his hands and knees. It's just logic.

Can someone tell me why ICE was even at that exact location? Their only authority is immigration enforcement. Was an undocumented immigrant present at the scene? Was the woman or Pretti preventing them from approaching that immigrant, showing that immigrant their badge, and questioning them?

Because if this was not happening, ICE was not legally fulfilling their role as law enforcement.

I wonder if in the process of disarming him a shot from his gun went off and the panic started and shots were directed at him. Not excusing but trying to make sense.

That is exactly what happened. But the left (who knows nothing about guns) wont accept it.

It’s truly fascinating to see how quickly the MAGA story has gone from “he was a domestic terrorist who was trying to assassinate federal agents” to “our agents are a bunch of f$ck ups who negligently discharged a weapon and then freaked out and starting blasting away at the guy.”

Np here. I remember a time when LEO and federal agents were specifically trained to NOT panic and start shooting wildly at someone’s back at the sound of gunfire. Remember when they had training and skills to deescalate a situation and neutralize a perceived threat or suspect without the loss of life? Those were the days. Turns out 47 days of training (chosen to honor Trump being the 47th president) might not have been sufficient, shockingly.

Is this true?

Yes. https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2026/jan/12/mark-warner/ICE-training-requirements-Trump-Minneapolis/

And it's just logic to fire off multiple rounds when surrounded by your fellow officers in very close proximity to you and not worrying about hitting any of them by mistake.

Are you supposed to remain motionless like a corpse while being tear gassed, punched, and sat upon?

Asking for me and my friends who will be attending more protests.

Yes. How do people not realize this? Pretend you're playing freeze-tag if that's what it takes.

It's not possible to not move when six people are pulling you and hitting you. You're expecting rhe man to somehow defy basic physics.

But if a person is resisting arrest and has a firearm, they have every right to remove it because it is a threat.

he wasn't resisting

Watch the video. He kept trying to get up when they were trying to restrain him.

People like PP are truly ghouls who don't understand physiology. The body's instinct is to react. It's wholly disingenous to say that people who are being attacked should just resist and fall to the ground because you'd have to go against your instincts and your fight or flight response, which is very hard to do, especially under extreme duress. You're not thinking at a moment like that, your body is reacting.

How do people not understand this? Try walking without moving your arms.

But also, at that point, he knew he was being murdered, not arrested. iCE had no authority to arrest him. He had every right to resist.

He may have had the right to resist, but if he hadn’t, he’d likely still be alive

Why don't you just say that you're PRO taxpayer $$ being used to murder Americans after point-blank pepperspraying?

It would really be more honest and would save us all time than your dance around.

Can’t believe this thread is 120 pages. The situation is clear as day on video. Alex was carrying a gun legally (the most important right according to MAGA). He did not reach for his gun. Agents took the gun away from him. Agents then attacked an unarmed Alex and shot him several times after he was absolutely no threat to them. These agents are not trained properly and this was execution pure and simple.

It didn’t even look pretty was anywhere near any immigration enforcement. That agent approached him, and the other agents came running from across the street where I presume the actual immigration activity was being done. Do you remember that video of the ice agent slipping on ice running towards a photographer and then running back to his car? There was no enforcement activity there, they will just run up on people filming.

How TF was he resisting arrest? He was peppersprayed at point blank range. They could have walked away at that point.

Let me repeat, THEY COULD HAVE WALKED AWAY AT THAT POINT.

People kill. Not guns.

Exactly. He was just trying to help that lady they shoved up. Then they began beating him savagely. He wasn’t resisting. He was trying not to die and they killed him anyway. If he wanted to hurt them he could have. He held onto his phone with one hand and the lady with the other ffs.

Of course! Ricochets don't happen when you are pursuing the bad guys. The bullets know. They have a way of shutting that down themselves.

10 times. In the back. Don't forget that part.

This article breaks my heart. One less good man in the world thanks to ICE iidiots.

Alex Pretti’s Friends and Family Denounce ‘Sickening Lies’ About His Life

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/25/us/alex-pretti-minneapolis-shooting.html
People who knew a man fatally shot by federal agents pushed back against what they called a smear campaign by federal officials. “He was a good man,” his family said.

He was a calm presence amid hospital chaos. A mentor who taught kindness and patience to younger friends and colleagues. A singer with a knack for dancing. A bicyclist who treasured the beauty of Minnesota.

This weekend, the family, co-workers and friends of Alex Pretti, who was killed by immigration agents in a confrontation after he was apparently filming them, remembered his life, even as the circumstances of his death were debated on the national stage.

They shared photos of the Alex they knew: a smiling, bearded Mr. Pretti in the powder-blue scrubs he wore at his job as an intensive-care nurse at the Veterans Affairs hospital, an outdoors lover posing with his mountain bike on a wooded trail and a student wearing a green cap and gown as he sang a solo at his high school graduation in Green Bay, Wis.

And they denounced what they saw as smear campaigns in the aftermath of Mr. Pretti’s death.

In all of the photos of Pretti, you can tell he was a kind, decent man. It's our country's loss.

Noem’s statements about the killing do not match up with the video at all. She is bold faced lying, calling him a domestic terrorist, and MAGA is eating it up. Noem has no credibility. Anyone with a brain can see that ICE is out of control and this was murder.

He didn't resist. He was on the ground, pepper sprayed, beaten and disarmed. They murdered him execution style.

Stop blaming the victim. You are a disgusting, sick person.

Just admit you condone and enjoy cold blooded murder.
