It’s funny that you scoff at the idea of a sudden recollection, because when me too was causing women to share their experiences, every so often a woman’s story would remind me of one of my own experiences, long buried and shoved where the experience wouldn’t smart regularly.

Thank you. Even now - I can only call up one or two of the experiences, and I remember losing count of the things that actually happened to me that I remembered around me too.

To me that she remembered suddenly is only more proof.

Allegations:

Two Miss Teen USA contestants told BuzzFeed News in October 2016 that Trump walked in on them while they were changing in their dressing rooms.

"I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, 'Oh my god, there's a man in here,'" Mariah Billado, who represented Vermont in 1997, told BuzzFeed. Billado added that Trump said something along the lines of, "Don't worry, ladies, I've seen it all before."

Victoria Hughes, a former Miss New Mexico, said Trump first introduced himself to the teenage contestants when he unexpectedly walked into their dressing room.

"It was certainly the most inappropriate time to meet us all for the first time," she told BuzzFeed.


Trump's response:

Trump appeared to admit to this behavior when he boasted in an April 2005 interview with radio host Howard Stern that he regularly walked into contestants' dressing rooms on the beauty pageants he owned while women were unclothed.

"I'll go backstage before a show and everyone's getting dressed and ready and everything else. And you know, no men are anywhere. And I'm allowed to go in because I'm the owner of the pageant," he said. "You know they're standing there with no clothes. And you see these incredible-looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that."

In October 2016, the Trump campaign called the allegations politically motivated lies.

"These accusations have no merit and have already been disproven by many other individuals who were present," the campaign said in a statement. "When you see questionable attacks like this magically put out there in the final month of a presidential campaign, you have to ask yourself what the political motivations are and why the media is pushing it."

A former Miss Teen USA says Donald Trump was never inappropriate around her or other beauty pageant contestants.

“I never had a bad experience with him,” Katie Blair told TMZ in an interview published Thursday. "I have great respect for him as a boss, as a businessman.

“As far as the rumors surrounding him coming into the backstage and things like that, dressing rooms, absolutely not. I never experienced that. I don’t know anyone who has.”

Blair, who won Miss Teen USA in 2006, said the contest's setup would make it hard for Trump to have been backstage with the contestants.

“As far as backstage goes, you’re talking about a live production here,” she said. "There’s literally no time, no space. He’s not putzing around back there while girls are just stark naked.

“At the end of the day, you’re in a beauty pageant. You are there to be judged for your looks. If you’re there and you’re not expecting to be judged by the person who owns it, that’s your own misconception.”

So we all came forward and stood there. He walked in, he said 'Hello. Good job. How are you? Good luck.' Something very simple, very fast. Then Melania said a few words, and then they walked out."

"He went down and individually said hello to all of us," she said. "It didn't feel uncomfortable. It was just a hello and it was the only way to make sure that he could actually say hi to each one of us and not leave somebody out."
