I’m not missing anything. I know the whole story and it’s solid. It’s a win win for all the stakeholders. And has a long-term benefit to all. |
Then please tell us what the plan is. |
| Like throwing money into the fireplace |
Please stop. I’m going to start reporting the unnecessarily mean posts on this thread. They’re awful. |
Do any of your kids actually go to Seneca and you got the announcement?? FFS. |
I mean a private school with a traditional curriculum. Seneca is an IB program school (great for some, but not for us): The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a nonprofit foundation that offers “a transdisciplinary program of international education designed to foster the development of the whole child.” The IBO offers four programs: the Career-related Program, the Diploma Program, the Middle Years Program, and the Primary Years Program. Seneca Academy is fully authorized to provide the Primary Years Program (PYP) (ages 3-12). The PYP draws on research and best practice from a range of national systems to create relevant, engaging, challenging, and significant education for all children. https://www.senecaacademy.org/ib-program/ |

Maybe they should just combine Seneca and Barnesville and create one incredible new school to serve the up-County population.
Maybe toss Christ Episcopal in there too - how does that school survive? They don’t have many students either. |
People are allowed to post their opinions. |
Sure. It’s clear they aren’t up to date on what the plan is though so it’s hard to take them seriously. |
| the plan involves essentially merging with georgetown hill. they will announce more details tomorrow. |
| Merging with who? |
|
Georgetown HIll. It's another daycare/preschool.
So they are strengthening their preschool - what is the plan for the elementary grades? I'm glad they found a solution that works for them (and a solution for Georgetown Hill) |
I don't think anything is official until they say it's official. But what I've heard is that Georgetown Hill has had plans to expand into the elementary school market and truly loved Seneca's model, which could be replicated. So it's first step is to shore up Seneca's elementary, and then perhaps open similar elementary schools elsewhere. At a much later time obviously, given the current economic and public health climates. Seneca still needs to get its budget restructured and under control. I hope Georgetown Hill provides some guidance there. Seneca lacks a gym and a cafeteria, but otherwise, the educational experience it delivers is incredible. Especially for the lower grades. |
Right, that’s my sense too. Georgetown Hill is a well-regarded preschool, and Seneca Academy’s educational experience is quite good, so merging the two seems like a decent idea. Hope it works out for them! |
| This Seneca school has no gym? Makes sense now. |
