Example of the snark - these posters are annoyed that they can't berate a mom for her choices around her kid's sleep:
https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/844974.page It's everywhere. |
Um, 21:19 called it a sport in the context of a discussion about whether trashing believers was proselytizing or just fun. Sport = fun. If you have to resort to being illogical to make your point, there’s no point continuing this discussion. |
Were you the OP of that Feedback forum thread? And Jeff is calling you out for being a jerk to the mom? You’ve got bigger problems than this thread, like personality problems, for sure. |
"Many people like to be snarky on the internets. That's not proselytizing." "Meh. Just trying to explain “motivations”. Calling out someone’s ignorance is the sport. Not changing minds. Not proselytizing." The whole point was it's a general phenomenon - people like to be snarky on the internet. It's not just a DCUM/Religion thing. |
No. I know you probably find this hard to believe but there are MANY different people posting on DCUM.
Point was - people really like to snark. |
Troll admits to trolling. |
Are you mentally ill? I just said it wasn't me. Ask Jeff. |
You’re the smiley face poster, abhorred even by other atheists. You’re a troll. |
Crazy dude, I did not start that thread on website feedback. I didn't even post to it. Feel free to ask Jeff. It was an example of how people generally just like to snark. Are you even reading my posts? Or are you just replying with whatever random insults pop into your head? |
You’re so disingenuous. Of course I never said the smiley-faced poster started the thread on website feedback. You put your smiley icon above—you’re the religion forum smiley troll that even some atheists say is annoying and immature. And you admitted here to trolling for fun/sport. Snooooze. You’re a disingenuous troll. Outta here, bye. |
Lol. This doesn’t make you special or tolerant. Even the harshest dictators are happy to have you believe whatever you want so long as you keep it between your own two ears. |
No one said anything about "keep it between your own two ears" and you just made it up. PP mentioned legislation. BIG DIFFERENCE. And it does, in fact make PP tolerant. Exactly tolerant. By definition. |
Of course people are going to choose legislation and live according to their beliefs if they have them. I believe that stealing is wrong. I am going to choose legislation that supports that. I believe that God has given us the earth to care for and protect it. I am going to choose legislation that supports that. I believe that prisoners do not deserve cruel punishment or death penalty. I am going to choose legislation that supports that. If you are only tolerant of people if they don't talk about or act on their beliefs, then you are NOT tolerant. |
Again since you either can't or refuse to get it -- no one said you can't talk about your beliefs. But if you want to legislate based on them - then YOU are starting the debate, since that is what legislation is, and then YOU have to accept what people tell you in return. For the record, everyone thinks stealing is wrong. It does not require a religion. At all. So another strawman point there. |
Yes, tolerance seems to be an issue nowadays, everywhere. |
