Then I do it again. They get my nt stay away after that. Did it to a guy with a Burley cart on Mt. Vernon yesterday after the market. He about sh*t his pants.

Hilarious.

Wow. You do not belong in Del Ray.

I'm amending my sign: "All are welcome here - unless you're an asshole"

Will have to when they get sued by the bicyclist they accidentally hit one day and are forced into bankruptcy.

Why do people keep throwing bombs into this thread to derail it?? Oh, because they're trying to detract from the discussion.

That you know what a “Burley” is makes me think you’re a cyclist yourself simply trolling. But if you tried that with me I’d be 50/50 between calling the cops on you or knocking the mirrors off you car with a ulock at the next stoplight while you sat there petrified.

Yawn Fairfax East county schools are just as bad as Alexandria

School systems are not as good or bad, they just are reflections of the types of kids that attend them period

Bingo. My thoughts exactly. What a jerk he is.

Returning to OP's original question/thought. Are any of you worried about the influx from our southern border at a time when we barely can build new for our residents?

I'm thinking we (ACPS School Board) will need to go so basic on buildings if this happens here (and I expect it will).

PP, by "southern border" do you mean Fairfax County? You really think people are flocking to Alexandria City from Fairfax County?

I’d be careful assuming that the driver wouldn’t get out of the car and bash your Skull in with a bat. There are dozens of YouTube videos displaying bicycle vigilantes getting nearly beaten to death after assuming they could damage someone’s vehicle without consequence. I know that would be the case if you attacked my car when I was in it, especially if my kids were in it. It would not end well for you.

Both of you are losers for threatening physical violence. Grow up.

If you try to drift into a bike to scare them, you should not count on a cautious response. I mean you are talking about someone endangering your vehicle after you have just threatened their life.

BTW, cyclists just call them burleys, not "burley carts" IME, so I don't think this is a cyclist trolling.

Capitalizing 'skull' is also odd.

The sad thing is that Alexandria has less than half of the public housing it had 15-20 years ago. Almost all of the public housing in Old Town has been converted into high priced townhouses and condos. If you are in Quadrants 2 or 3 and see rows of townhouses that are less than 20 years old then they were built on land that used to be public housing. Literally. People are paying upwards of $700k-1.5M for those townhouses. Alexandria isn't for poor people anymore. Yet our school system is what it is. We are mired in acceptance of the status quo and upholding of low expectations.

90% of the public housing in Old town is gone.
