Alexandria schools - why so bad?!

If you want to live in the land of the mediocre, then Springfield is the place to be.

Apples and oranges.
TC is mostly acceptable for what it is. You get a somewhat better commute and some festivals. You also get a hugely underperforming school, that your UMC will be fine at.
LB is a more suburban area with a much better regraded school.
The end.

It got started because LBSS isn't that great, and Springfield and Burke are death. UMC do more than fine at TC. Top TC students get into better schools than top LBSS students.

What you post is completely false. You are picking the wrong battle on this forum.

I mean, enjoy your lantern festival, but ACPS sucks. LBSS is one of the top 15 high schools in the state.

What I post is completely true. Top students at TC attend better schools than top students at LBSS. Let's compare. Where is this year's LBSS valedictorian going to college?

Wherever they wanted

And where would that be?

Not my concern

Springfield is Lee high school.

Alexandria people are starting to totally lose their shit here.

Did they seriously think they could hold TC Williams out as anything other than what it is - a persistently low-achieving school with the lowest overall academic profile in NoVa - simply because a handful of wealthy families couldn’t get their act together enough to place their kids at SSSA, Episcopal or even Ireton and then end up sending their legacy spawn to TC?

It’s sad. Seems like they might have something weirdly personal against the Lake Braddock valedictorian. Not a good look.

Almost everyone in Del Ray leaves or at the very least goes private. Seems like you missed the memo.

There's another one! You should have married better!

Oh no, butt hurt...way to keep things classy, Alexandria!

This must be the same lunatic who tried unsuccessfully to convince everyone Del Ray was the best neighborhood in NoVa. That was a fool’s errand by itself, but trying to push TC over a top school like Lake Braddock is taking things to a whole new level of insanity.

Is this a comment about TC?

I just don’t think I could send my kid to a school that “couldn’t handle” night home games.
That’s pretty bad.

PP, you are a completely rude, disgusting and nasty person.

I am an Alexandria City resident. I don't know anything at all about Lake Braddock but I am mortified that you are here posting the way you are. You bring all of Alexandria down with your post. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Considerations of what college or university to select are based on a myriad of factors, none of which we know here for this young man or woman. Get back into your cage and leave this student alone. He or she was valedictorian of her/his class. Whichever school she or he chose is lucky to have him or her. I am sure the student, who obviously is very smart, made the right choice for him/herself.

Found the racist. Wow.

Got awfully quiet around here at 6.

I guess all the housewives in Springfield are busy making Salisbury steak and canned corn for their GS 9 husbands.
