Are you in the DC area? If you are open-minded, I would suggest to you seeing a holistic doctor. Dr. Margaret Gennaro is in Fairfax, VA. She is an MD, an ND and a homeopath all in one and is fantastic. She will help you where modern medicine has failed.
Here is her contact information. She will respond pretty quickly to your email or phone call.

God Bless You...I hope you find healing!!

My 3 year old baby had H1N1 vaccine in November of 2009, 2 hours after the vaccine, she broke into hives, she still has them, almost a year later, nothing helps. She is on Allegra almost every day. It is scary. Will they ever disappear?

No one really knows, yet they will still assure us it's safe.

My mother hs the same problem. Hives for the past year. we have tried everything from taking out the carpet, stopping all medication, got rid of the dog...etc. An allergy test said medication and all we can come up with is the flu shot. She took it about a week before the hives.

I suspect this thread is going to heat back up again now that the seasons have changed and every pharmacy known to man has big red signs advertising their flu shots.

I'm sure it will. During the summer when people get hives, they assume it is just hives.

I received the flu shot and with in 24 hours I broke out in hives. They hives are still appearing three days later. I had to go to the ER because of the swelling and receive a prednisone injection. I am still on prednisone and Vistril for itching but they are driving me crazy. The most miserable thing I have encountered. I have taken the flu shot for over 25 years and no problem until this one. I plan on seeing my allergist ASAP.

My 2 year old son got his flu shot 10/11/2010 around 8:30am and broke out in thick hives the following day around 10:30am. Took him to Dr. and was told to give him Children's Benadryl for couple days...and if that doesn't help, he was prescribed Orapred for a week. It is now a couple days after his flu shot and he still has reoccurring hives. I'm so worried. I hope this doesn't last throughout his lifetime because of one shot!

Previous 2 posters.....both of you are big pharma's wet dream. Now that you've become sick with the flu shot, you can go from one clueless doctor to another and from one medication that doesn't work to another to figure what the hell just happened to you. Welcome to the nightmare of western medical "sick care". Both of you....I sincerely hope that you can find healing for yourselves and children that does NOT include perscriptions. There are alternative methods of cleansing the crap that has been injected into you. For one, you can do a search on "Master Cleanse".

Nice job, taking two people who are sick and calling them big pharma's wet dream. Classy.

I am prone to hives, and for that reason, I refused to get the H1Ni shot for myself AND for my kids. They will not be getting any flu shot this year either, and we've actually received every year prior to this H1N1 "epidemic."

I just got the flu shot on 10/14/10. I've been getting it yearly for as long as I can remember and never had a problem. However, I'm one of those people that are very sensitive to medications and when the warnings say "only 1% of the population may experience a rare side effect...", I'm always part of that 1%! Anyway, I got the shot on Thursday afternoon and had the typical tenderness near the injection. By Friday night, my left arm (where the injection was) was very itchy and I started to notice tiny bumps. The bumps and itching got worse over the weekend. I went to my allergist Monday afternoon and he said "hmm, I've never seen anything like that before" (which was very reassuring...). He said he doubted it was from the flu shot because he'd never seen a reaction like this from it before. He prescribed a steroid cream and scheduled a 2 week follow up. By Monday night, my dozens of bumps on my left arm turned to hundreds of bumps. It had spread to my right arm, and was also showing up in a small patch under my eye. Tuesday I went to my PCP. He and 2 other doctors all said the same thing, that they had never seen anything like it before. The bumps are not hives, they said it was dermatitis. I told them about what I had read on this website and they agreed I was having a rare adverse reaction from the flu shot. They gave me vistaril for the itching but it only helped a little bit and it continued to spread. I called the dr again on Wednesday and said I needed something else. They hesitated to give me steroids because they said it would kill the vaccine and defeat the purpose of getting the shot to begin with. At that point I didn't care about risking getting the flu so I begged for the steroids. I took them yesterday and when I woke up today, the bumps on my face and right arm are nearly gone. There are still about a hundred on my left arm but they aren't as red. I'm hoping the continue to go away!! This has been the worse experience ever!!

I guess I am one of those rare people also. I had a flu shot with H1N1 on 10/13, and was itching the next day. I thought it was my ecezma coming back since the weather is changing, but then the back of my legs starting itching, and by Sunday I had patches under each arm. Dermatologist says it is definitely hives. she thinks it might be due to the flu shot, but not sure. She gave me a prednizone injection, cream, and antihistimes for the itching. She asked me to make an apt for 3 weeks for a follow-up. Apparently, sometimes it can last that long, ugh. I am still itching, haven't seen any reduction in the red patches yet, but I'm sleeping better thanks to the antihistimines!

The rash got worse again during the day today and started to appear on my face again. I finally let my bf drag me to the ER only to hear the same thing I've heard from the other doctors "I've never seen anything like that before". They gave me no answers, no suggestions, no medications, Nothing. Only a recommendation to see my dermatologist. Why, to pay another copay to hear a dr tell me they don't know what's wrong with me??.

PP's who got hives/dermatitis....I highly suggest that you start seeing an alternative medicine doctor. Dr. Margaret Gennaro is located in the city of Fairfax. She uses holistic/herbal/homeopathic supplements and can help you where western medicine fails.

I know it's a leap of faith, but then again, so is going to a western medical doctor and hoping that magic shots and pills will be the quick solution to your health.

Truly, I hope that you find the healing you are looking for. In some ways, be thankful that you learned NOW before spending more years getting this dreadful shot. And if it looks bad on the outside (your skin), just think what it's doing on the inside....UGH!!

Hugs and Healing to you all!!
