I think you're painting a false picture here. I was also at that game, because my DD played right before and she wanted to stay and watch a bit. We left at the half but what I heard was the parents being loud because the ref was losing control of the game. The girls were playing a little too rough. I didn't hear any parent talking directly to any player, just the ref. I'm not going to speak to the style of play. It was a physical game and neither team was playing pretty soccer. |
Arlington needs to put some match video up occasionally. I don't doubt what you are saying based on what I hear, but would like to see it for myself and be the judge. |
| so FCV swept ASA this weekend, all 3 squads .... how was the play? |
You know how the play was FCV dad. Go fishing elsewhere. |
|
^^ umm, not with your club nor FCV. one of you was on another baord a week ago hyping how this would be a good group of games.
all I see is the result ...... |
Our child's non Arlington team has played against their red and white team over the past two years. |
No need to get defensive. Arlington parents think WAY too highly of themselves and their teams. Arlington girls have played kickball for years. Sure they've won games because of it, but those girls aren't getting better doing that. Maybe the parents should demand that the coaches teach the players how to actually pass the ball instead of launching long ball after long ball. Not holding my breath. |
. OK FCV dad. |
My kids have played in multiple clubs (not FCV) and against Arlington for years. Go watch them play. Even a novice can tell they don't pass the ball. The arrogance is what takes the cake though. The parents think they are playing the sport the right way. It is comical. |
Who is the arrogant one? You are the one who willfully came into an Arlington discussion board to attack the playing style of the club as if how they play was some crime against your family, nature and humanity. You might just want to get over yourself a little bit. |
Over-dramatize much? Last I checked this was a public forum. If you don't like my post, ignore it. There are people here that are asking legitimate questions about clubs and teams. I am sharing my opinion on Arlington girls soccer - some may find value in it, some may not. No big deal, certainly not a crime against humanity. |
What about the bolded had ANYTHING to do with playing style? Again, You come into a Arlington Board, arrogantly attack their style of play and then accuse Arlington parents of arrogance? |

As I read through the posts...found this one...and this is what I based my arrogance and novice comments on. "I’ve seen a few of the Arlington DA teams play and their style wasn’t inconsistent with that I’ve seen of other conference DA teams. They were possession focused and looking to force play forwards when opportunities presented themselves. They took time to reset play when they weren’t. They were very aggressive in pressing when not in possession. There was no “send it” or “forward” commands at the matches I watched, that must have been a different group. To the person who said there was some bad play, I’d attribute that more to talent differences between teams than style. Based on what I’ve seen from many teams, the style these teams are trying to play doesn’t vary too much and is not direct in most cases." |
Here is a link to a game from July. Most of the team has remained the same from what I understand. Anyone describing what Arlington is playing here as possession soccer is either drunk or knows very little about the sport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypdoinkdyd4 |
