BS. Go look at College Confidential. I watched the Chinese, Indian and Japanese students post their stats when they didn't get in or were waitlisted. UVA receives applications from students in 150 countries and accepts students from at least 105 countries each year. The competition is fierce.

The world isn't very impressed by the plantation style campus or white dreams of "gone with the wind" they are looking for Nobel graduates, creators and innovators among alumni and UVA has like zero because it doesn't specialize in the difficult majors.
