Trump, McConnell, Ryan, and 64 percent of Republicans support a DACA fix. They could bring it to a vote tomorrow morning and it would pass easily. Same with CHIP. And yet they don’t. Maybe they will actually do some work if the government shuts down.

Republicans don't want to split their party and upset their base. There was a bipartisan agreement last week and full appropriations had gone through. Government is on hold because of the 15% of voters who who like the poster above refer to people dropping babies and want to end natural born citizenship. Everyone else agrees except the crazies.
