These signs are all over the place on the border. Guess it did not apply to him. Bet you can get a good price for a gun down there...and score so drugs.

The guy has been in jail for several weeks now. It's time to let him go. If you had seen the pictures of the crossing, you would understand his mistake.

+1000. Besides, he made a MISTAKE!!! Why can't some of you idiots figure out this was not intentional and that Mexico needs to let him go NOW.

Were you there? How do you know it wasn't intentional. People take guns across the border all the time. It's only unintentional when the person is caught.

He TOLD the guards there were guns in his car. He then called 9-1-1. He wasn’t trying to hide them.
The signage directing people to the “US turn around” was practically nonexistent. Ironic that after this story broke, there is now a flashing neon sign with directions on which lane to enter to make the U-turn.

Yes. But, once more, the Marine was not going into Mexico. The sign to NOT go into Mexico was not a large sign above the road.

Wasn't the big white sign above enough, or did he actually need a second side that said "and if you keep on driving this way, you WILL BE IN MEXICO!"

There was no exit after that sign. The exit was a small sign posted to the left of the far left lane. It was not visible.

After the big white sign, don't you just take the next exit and turn around???? What kind of idiot is the guy?

While it is apparently not a crime, I do wonder why a guy who has PTSD is driving around with three guns. That seems problematic on the face of it. Didn't a guy with PTSD freak out recently and shoot someone at a gun range?

http://www.foxnews.com/on-air/on-the-record/2014/06/02/exclusive-real-reason-our-marine-jailed-mexico-had-guns-his-car

Has he shot anyone? Threatened anyone? My guess if you state you have weapons in the car, you aren't going to go postal on anyone's ass

I guess you can disarm active duty if you'd like, and paint all PTSD cases like Nidal Hasan who...oh wait, he didn't HAVE PTSD. And active duty WERE disarmed...that worked out well, did it not?

The war is winding down, or haven't you heard

"Winding down" is not the same as being over. Withdrawal is one of the most sensitive parts of a military operation. How to protect the troops that are left as you pull down is problematic.

You're an idiot. Or maybe you argue just to argue even when your argument is ridiculous. Are you a trial attorney and trained to argue about any and everything. The war in Afghanistan is over. The last remaining combat soldiers are coming home. Hurray for those families.

Thanks for the name calling. No. The fact is that this is a very sensitive part of the operation. Read a little. And, have you told the Taliban that the war is over? Guess what. It's not.

Well George W Bush freely and openly bargained with terrorists. Where was the outcry of woe is me when he paid millions of dollars to the Sunnis to disarm in Fullujah? You know the guys who ran with Zaquawi (sic) killing American troops, kidnapping and beheading American contractors, and blowing up Shia temples. Those guys were terrorists that America not only negotiated with, but paid them off with American dollars.

I don't think Bush was wrong in negotiating with these terrorists, it was necessary. I do think that all you harpies are partisan hypocrites.

You are very welcome. You wear it well.
