Thanks for the update. Let me try to embed it...

Quoting and bumping in case people haven't seen this sketch.

Just adding on - The suspect is described as an older, balding man with gray hair and a beard. Police say he was wearing tan outerwear at the time of the shooting, possibly a jacket or a work coat.

What is taking so long? Why haven't they caught this guy yet?

Stay safe, everyone. Don't open the door to strangers.

Never open the door when you're uncertain who it is.

Anything new?

I don't think so. But residents are definitely starting to feel a greater sense of danger.

I know the APD has a history of being conservatively private and not very transparent with the public, but I don't think they can continue those policies as the days go by.

I saw on news4 last night that the FBI is involved now.

I'm really irritated that the city hasn't sent out one e-mail or text alert, for those that have signed up to their alert system. I get them for weather issues, closures, and related disruptions. But I haven't gotten one single alert asking for tips and information, link to the sketch, or with safety recommendations. Nothing at all from them.

I love living in Alexandria, but someone's really dropping the ball.

And don't forget to reinforce this with everyone in your family and your nanny/Au pair. My AP had heard of the shooting, but didn't know the apparently random nature or about the November shooting, which I hadn't known about either.

Anyone know the significance of the FBI being involved? Does it mean there have been federal laws implicated here?

I've gotten multiple emails. Check your spam filter maybe? Or which lists you are subscribed to?
