Remember this is an anonymous forum so there is no way to confirm the veracity of any statement or post. The point is that it is best to ask the admin or teachers on certain issues. PA list serve and DCUM have their uses but often we need info from the true source. So send an email or ask in person. If one is concerned about getting the brush off, then ask in a public setting like back to school night or a PA meeting.

The principal hasn't been to a PA meeting in close to a year!

Little of what Yu Ying does is good educationally, but it is very, very shrewd from a business sense.

It's a school of choice you know. If you don't like it, leave. The bottom line is that there's something wrong with you if you're sending your child to a school you don't like.

If I leave can I take the per pupil funding from the state with me? Last I checked, Yu Ying was a taking tax dollars to educate DC's children.

Since Yu Ying only wants to educate CERTAIN kinds of children, perhaps they should shift to a private school model.

After all, you guys really, really like to raise money.

That's the beauty of YY. It does operate on a private school model while receiving tax payer beanies. What's not to like about that. It's better than the voucher system if you are lucky enough to get the right lottery number.

Isn't that how it works? Schools get money per pupil so if you move your kid out, your new school gets the money.

Yes. The funding follows the child. Schools are only funded for the students that are enrolled. You didn't know that??

No dumb shit. I want the cash in my hand. How 'bout that.

YY parents are both smug and ignorant. Lovely combo.

Obviously you don't understand the law. If you withdraw from... Payne or Minor or Watkins, you don't get to keep the money. Likewise, if you withdraw from Yu Ying or Two Rivers or Stokes, you don't get to keep the money.

Apparently you don't even know what a dumbshit is. I suggest you look in the mirror.

Do you really have kids at YY?
