What do you think about Stella and Dot jewelry?

Just take a look at the BBB report... It's not just customers but former stylists complaints too. I think that speaks for itself!

Horrible customer service! They also don't guarantee their products. I purchased 2 bracelets at an event and both of them are falling apart and they will not replace them! Very disappointed. Never buying from them again!

I am so surprised. I have bought a lot of S&D bags and jewelry, and have worn them over and over. I get tons of compliments (particularly on the earrings), and the bags are gorgeous and have stood the test of time. One necklace has been a disaster because it catches on things and breaks, but otherwise I've had no problems with quality. Anyway, thank you all for sharing your experience because I was considering becoming a consultant (stylist, I guess) this month, but based on your reviews will not do it. I would hate to sell product others aren't happy with.

I know this is an old feed, but I've had a SD silver ring I bought 4 yrs ago that I still wear everyday. I actually wear it instead of my wedding ring. It has never tarnished nor turned my finger green and still looks new. I don't think the line is inferior at all. Just my 2 cents.

Okay My Mother in Law had a Jewelery party I was visiting her so I decided to stay just to see what it was all about. This was approximately a year ago. I am not big on jewelery the jewelery I wear never comes out such as piercings in my ear being of high quality and completely stainless steel trough and trough. But I saw a couple pieces I really like 2 bracelets but the cost was outrageous so I decided not to purchase them. for the 2 pieces it would have come to well over $100.00 about $120.00 plus tax that is a lot to pay for costume jewelery. The stylist was really helpful and said their quality is what you pay for. and you have 120 day if you have an issue. Luckly from the party my mother in law managed to provide a large income for this lady and she was allowed 2 free pieces and 3 50% off items. So at the end she let me do the 50% off for my 2 items so I paid $60 and some change. I always kept the bracelets together on a high shelf knowing the cost of them I didn't want them broken with a 5 year old around. I only wore them on special occasions, and maybe a handful of times since I got them. Yesterday I was gong to a 2nd job interview at a local jewelery store that sells silver jewelery so I take down my special expensive bracelets to wear them and one is lose like really lose could fly off my hand by simply walking. I take it off it is one of the silver studded bracelets that at the time all the celebrity's were wearing. so with me hardly wearing it for a year the elastic band (mind you it looked like a cheap hair elastic that you would buy at the dollar store quality there for sure) deteriorated to a point it is slack like a hair elastic that has gotten pulled out of the metal shaft. I WILL NEVER BUY STELLA AND DOT AGAIN, NOT WORTH THE 50% OFF PRICE. It is complete garbage. Now I am going to speak with My mother in law this weekend and see if her stylist will do anything but according to the web site she will not take responsibility for defects unless it is with in 120 days. for someone like me that doesn't wear jewelery everyday that is not suffice for defects. the elastic literally deteriorated during non use what kind of quality is that. I highly doubt that celebrity's were wearing Stella and Dot more than likely stella and dot knocked it off.

Oh and here is the kicker since I couldn't wear those bracelets I wore a $5 wrap around bracelet that a friend bought in Beijing. At least it's not falling apart.

Too expensive! Bad quality! Junk! Hate hate hate bring invited to any sales party!

My neighbor actually works in supply chain in the costume jewelry/watch industry. She told me (as a random example) that a bracelet that sells for 60 some dollars actually cost S&D about 2.56 from their supplier.

Maybe it is a "business" technically but to me it is not a REAL business. When I think of someone having a business it is of a person who busts their ass, pays their dues and builds something real of their own. Not this silly nonsense of paying your own money in to some cultish group only for the right to harass family and friends to purchase things they most likely do not want or need.
I totally agree. I am feeling harrassed right now and purposely did not attend a party. Not for s and d but a competitor. I was asked if I wanted to look through a magazine. No, I do not want to purchase overpriced jewelry leave me alone!

I just received a necklace I had ordered from Stella & Dot. It was on sale for $70 down from $118...and I was horrified when I lifted it out of the box!! The "chain" felt cheap and like it's made of plastic. I've found better quality necklaces on eBay for half the cost. I'm so disappointed and I can't even return the necklace because it was at a "sale" price.

I think the product is really great but being a Styist at the company is a joke. You can't make money and I don't care how they spin it. If you are thinking of signing up, don't. 3 years later and about $12,000 wasted on product---I basically worked full time last year and earned a measly $18K. They feed you all this bs that if you get to this level you will earn this and it is total bs. It doesn't work. The people at the top have made their money and all of the other people are chasing a dream that will never come.

Frustrated from the Midwest.

Very common and ugly jewelry. I saw the merchandise at a friend's house. Her colleague had asked her to host the event. What a joke!
