Another ICE Shooting in Minnesota

Anonymous
“ David Bier, the Cato institute director of immigration studies, shared the distressing video on X.

The video matches the reported location of the shooting mentioned by officials, and shows a man being wrestled to the ground by several law enforcement officers before being shot several times. At least two officers can be seen with weapons in their hands.

Open-source experts have begun to parse the apparent video evidence online, which seeemed to capture the sound of an initial shot causing the agents to retreat from the man before one fires at him repeatedly on the ground.

The journalist Eoin Higgins re-posted the clip on Bluesky, with suggestion that that one portion of the recording might show that an officer in grey “disarms the man on the ground being beaten — BEFORE shots were fired”.”

“Protesters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, have started setting up makeshift barricades and lighting dumpster bins on fire to block roadways.

ICE Agents are firing tear gas and less-lethal ammunition.“

I'm going to concede there is a possibility the shooting was justified, although that many agents not being able to remove a gun from a subject on the ground or use other means to subdue him begs the imagination. It also seems such a shooting had considerable potential to injure or kill another agent or bystander.

What I DO NOT buy is local LE being shut out and witnesses being taken to Whipple. They want cooperation from local LE? Then they should PROVIDE cooperation. I truly am beginning the think part of the plan is to create more hostility to local PD in the population. I have argued on reddit with people who are angry about the PD arresting the clergy protesters at the airport.
(s/o the Blooming PD chief has spoken, very articulately, about the real problem being the lack of immigration reform and laws that, even if ICE were to pack up and leave, mean people will continue to live in fear).

If in wrestling him, they happened to see that he had a gun in his clothing, per his legal right to legally own and carry one, that does not mean "brandishing" and only showcases that they are hotheaded bumbling incompetent fools.

And the criminals listed in the Epstein files continue to be protected.

Shut down this criminal ICE operation! How many more summary executions are these thugs going to carry out?
Enough!

Seriously, how does this sit with the gun nuts? Just having a gun in your possession is grounds for being beaten and shot to death? Is that the precedent they really want to set?

Context is everything.

Apparently the guy was white. Does that "context" change your calculus?

This won’t be the last person to die this way. It really is secret police behavior. They are above the law and are empowered to do whatever they want. They are pissed that people are fighting back.

We might all have to go to Minnesota, if that’s what it takes.

Definitely not justified if ICE took the victim's gun out of it's holster and then shot him.

Please provide concrete evidence that local police are not cooperating with ice. And then please define what cooperation means. The state head of prisons held a press conference several days ago pushing back on ICE claims that they are not cooperating.

Under normal circumstances, the federal government would pull their agents out of Minneapolis u til things come down. They can chase migrants elsewhere. The situation is too volatile in Minneapolis. But Trump and Miller, being who they are, will double down. And it will be their undoing.
