Dave Sundberg announced Monday that he is running for Congress in Maryland’s 5th congressional district (Steny Hoyer’s seat, who’s retiring.)
Sundberg previously served as Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI Washington Field Office, where he oversaw the bureau’s investigation into the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol. In announcing his campaign, Sundberg said he plans to focus on defending the Constitution and protecting democracy. Before joining FBI leadership, Sundberg served in the U.S. Air Force, worked as a detective in New Hampshire, and later commanded the FBI’s Hostage Rescue Team. He was removed from his FBI post in 2025 during the Trump administration. |

Kate Barr is a progressive Democrat who switched her party affiliation and is running in Republican primary against U.S. Rep. Tim Moore. She's doing so to highlight gerrymandering. She is open about who she is and what she believes in so no, she's not trying to dupe voters - unlike some Democrats turned GOP have done. This race started out as a long shot but is now competitive! If she wins the GOP primary she will run against a Democrat. If she is to win the seat she is looking to make as much Good Trouble as possible. I'm making calls for her! https://www.katebarrcanwin.com/ |

Is gerrymandering new?
No, it has been around a long time. |
He is running in the Democratic primary. That field is crowded. Who is running in the Republican primary for the seat. |
Eh. She's already lost. |
