I get special pay like 255K/yr, and we're very highly in demand. Should I decide to leave CISA and go to work for financial service company, my salary should be easily around 400K/yr.

I was going to say all Cyber positions in all agencies is a very safe place to be .... Cyber positions were on the except list in our agency from the Fork.

In cybersecurity and my division was not exempt from the fork. We are all worried about losing our jobs.

Cybersecurity is too tempting for Musk for you to be safe. Anything he can get his businesses into....

I wouldn’t think we need as many cybersecurity experts since we’re not monitoring or reporting on Russian activity any longer.

My agency is “well-liked” by this admin…not trying to out myself for fear of jinxing it

I wonder how many people who posted on the first few pages are still in their jobs.

Was this before or after he met with GOP Senators and they told him he needs to consult with them?

I realize everyone is afraid of him, and he can absolutely still do harm, but the absolute chaos is starting to be contained.

It’s going to take a while for the chaos to be contained. No one where I am feels safe. Everyone is worried.

I'm in the IC and I don't feel safe, but I also don't feel like a RIF is right around the corner.

The wheels are turning slowly in our organization.

That doesn't seem terrible. Figure they are paying about $6K for the employer side of FICA and maybe $15K for health insurance benefits puts you up to $108K. Maybe they give that employee a small 401K match so there's a few grand profit there.

Or are you saying the EA pay and benefits in its entirely is $87K in which case wow!

That's overhead for the contractor. It will cover admin salaries, HR, leases, etc. Imagine if feds had to tack on a percentage of fed admin salaries and fed leases to their salaries.

Patent Office is safe. Long live the patent office

Intelligence community was always considered relatively safe because cooler heads would agree that turning out a bunch of disgruntled intelligence officers onto the street is risky. China and Russia are already talking about stepping up recruiting efforts. But the people in power right now do not have cool heads, or perhaps even worse they want that to happen.

The CIA is firing most of its "probationary"/new hires today, apparently.

I heard that too. Considering how much training and investment they reportedly put into new hires, there’s a lot of sunk cost associated with a so-called cost saving move. But I guess the new hires would have less information to take away with them so less security risk?
