Unidentified drones over NJ/NY/DC

The war has come to us.

I get that we have no leadership but why aren’t the joint chiefs doing anything about this? Are they neutered without a Presidential order?

I realize you’ve clearly never fired a gun in your life, and that’s what led you to ask such an embarrassingly stupid question and think you sounded witty while doing it, but I’ll humor you with an actual answer, so you won’t look like such an utter imbecile in the future:

Shooting at a moving target overhead is best accomplished with a shotgun, which fires a cloud of small metal pellets, and is effective at hitting objects with reasonable accuracy up to about 250 high and maybe 200 feet away. After that, the “cloud” of shot pellets dispersers too much and the pellets themselves start to lose velocity to the point where they don’t have enough speed to do damage.

A rifle, which fires a single bullet instead of a cloud of pellets, is more accurate for distances up to several hundred yards up/out, but the problem is, with a moving target, you will probably never be able to “lead” the target properly at an unknown range to hit it. And in the meantime, the bullet you fired at it and missed with IS going to come down somewhere, potentially damaging something or someone. And contrary to what you think, most gun owners are keenly aware of the dangers of firing a rifle bullet into the air at shallow angles, and wouldn’t shoot at something in the air with a rifle unless it was practically overhead and the shot was nearly vertical (because the bullet will reach zero velocity at apogee and then fall back down at about the terminal velocity of a hailstone). And that would be a pretty unlikely scenario.

A handgun would be totally useless due to lack of any accuracy at all, and the bullet losing energy very quickly after a few hundred yards.

Plus, these drones being sighted are enormous. They’re so large that a single hit by a rifle bullet or a dozen smaller shotgun pellets probably isn’t going to cause the type of damage that would bring it down immediately.

So that’s why gun owners aren’t shooting them down. Because they’re not nearly as stupid as you are.

Now go forth and be slightly better-informed and not looking like such an idiot.

Why are you such an a**? Do you think it makes you sound smart?

You, 17:31, owe us an apology for your gross stupidity.

LOL. Yeah sure. As if the MAGA militia knows that.

DP. With every post, you're illustrating how utterly stupid you are. Do better.

I wonder the same thing. At the *very* least, why aren't our military jets tailing these drones - especially the ones that are flying in restricted airspace? It seems unreal that they're just leaving them alone to do whatever the hell they're doing.

I think you’re nuts if you think the government doesn’t know what these things are.

White Homes claims these drones are not malicious.

LIARS.

Pentagon officials immediately refuted claims by US Rep. Jeff Van Drew, a New Jersey Republican, that the drones were from an Iranian “mothership” off the East Coast of the US.

“There is not any truth to that,” deputy Pentagon press secretary Sabrina Singh said. “There is no Iranian ship off the coast of the United States, and there’s no so-called mothership launching drones towards the United States.”

Maybe Republicans are lying? Never

This seems like training for the new Pearl Harbor/9/11 to drag Trump into war.

Am I wrong?

Probably

Agreed. I’m really looking forward to Trump and his nutjob crew’s disaster. It’s going to be entertaining watching the trumpers eat each other.

Well they already ate the dogs and cats....so

1) it’s hilarious that you think being called an “ass” affects me… other than making me laugh

2) I’m very smart.

Everyone I’ve ever met who says they’re smart is not smart at all. Dumb people are too dumb to know they are dumb.

Savage burn, bruh. Savage. I’m so crushed I’m gonna go kill myself now.

No you won’t. Dumb people have an overinflated view of themselves, they’re not ones to do something like that.

The press conference today with John Kirby was crazy. He's basically straight up lying about the drones and the awesome journalists refuse to buy his BS. Hats off to them. Given his bald face lies on the record, I have to think the drones are controlled by the US gov - but for god only knows what purpose.

For sure it's the Biden administration. But why do this over the crowded eastern seaboard in the weeks leading up to the inauguration?

It doesn't add up.

Breaking: NJ Police dispatch calls reporting a drone falling from the sky with 10 more circling the crash. White House still doesn't have answers

Why is trump And Elon silent ??

You would think they would be jumping all
Over Biden and their inaction. Or is it something that trump and Elon are scared of ?

1. Maybe the drones belong to the US military?

2. Maybe the US govt/military knows who launched the drones? Russia, China, terrorists, etc? Maybe it’s psychological warfare: we are in your country and can do bad things unless you do XYZ.

3. Maybe it’s the latest Christmas craze…like cabbage patch dolls in the 80s?

Recognizing that our military uses drones to fight/kill abroad, I find this very worrisome.

Perhaps it’s a last minute test of part of a plan to deal with Trump and angry MAGAs around the country? Like maybe Biden has found a way to stop Trump from seizing power next month, and now they need effective weapon systems for dealing with MAGAs who will take up arms against the US Government when Trump is arrested (again). So these drones are mapping out the homes of known or suspected MAGA terrorists who have guns. In preparation for strikes on these locations at the start of their insurgency. The drones wont expose federal law enforcement officers to danger, and these MAGAs can be fought with drone fired missiles from a place of safety. Nearly all of the places these drones have been sighted have been red areas. Northern NJ is full of MAGA whack jobs. I’m actually comforted by this thought, because this is encouraging. Seeing these drones tells me there’s really a plan in the works, that our government isn’t going to just roll over and give up, but instead we’re going to fight. These drone sightings are GOOD things, folks.

Agree. And it’s got to be US military/gov that’s behind them. I can’t imagine them being so nonchalant otherwise.

This definitely isn’t helping the public’s already-eroding trust in the government.
