Have you actually seen the show? Cyndy Lauper's score is fantastic and there is really nothing "kinky" about it. I guess you are just another one of those people who think the presence of drag queens is "grooming" your high schooler.

The love story between Charlie and Lauren is so sweet and the show promotes creative thinking, dedication, and love.

Yeah. Totally inappropriate/

You might find it appropriate, but others don't. Please respect other peoples' views.
Regardless, this whole thing is controversial and therefore shouldn't be advertised in a public school.

LOL but your okay with Grease where HS kids are banging and drinking and smoking and a girl changes her whole personality to get the guy and oh and good news Kenickie did not knock up Rizzo.

Lol, yall are daft.

Right? I didn’t see this kind of protest when the school put on Carrie. It had worse language (swearing), depicted drinking, murder, and witchcraft, yet not a peep from folks. This is a very sweet story about learning about other people beyond a surface level.

Kinky Boots isn’t an appropriate musical.

Have you seen it?

This is all fine. Everyone just be cool please.

Ok, everyone should comply because you say so.

It's a free world, don't go, don't let your kids go, but don't push your small minded ideologies on everybody... especially when you support Grease and country music (which is 90% geting drunk and stalking your ex)

I should remind you that we are talking about a public school here, which should be offered to all kids, and should not discourage families because of some controversial ideologies.

They put on Carrie in the fall. That was not for families with younger kids. Did you get upset about that show as well? It is a HS. They don’t need to cater to families with kids of all ages - only HS when they choose.

How is something with the word "Kinky" ever appropriate in a school environment? I would not be allowed to wear those boots in my office (nor would I want to).

I'm scared to think what things will be like when my 3 year old gets to high school in FCPS. Unfortunately we don't have the funds for private.

You’re scared of a Tony-award winner musical being put on in your kids HS?

So no Grease, since kids are getting pregnant and smoking?

Are you obsessed with Grease or something?

Just no to drag queens period in schools.
Why not? Are you afraid your little darling will turn into a cross-dresser?

Nope. Just don’t want them exposed to that garbage. It’s weird and uncomfortable.

I’m glad you won’t be attending the show then because you’re being weird and making me uncomfortable with your hatred.

My kid is in one of the Pippins and I still don't understand what it's about...though they did say the bedroom scene is somewhat dramatic with live drums playing....

Will be so glad when pronoun fad goes away. It is interesting that inanimate objects (schools) have joined the pronoun brigade. Perhaps we are at the point where we have jumped the shark.

I am so glad it’s here. I’m a female in a very male dominated field with a gender neutral name, but vastly more associated with females of my generation. It’s annoying to constantly correct people when they address me via email as Sir just because there are more males in my field. Assume much? Listing my pronouns has cut that out by 100%.

Not PP, but I've seen the movie. It's an ugly SJW piece that could have been written during the heydays of American unions and mid-20th century progressivism.
Nothing that would be relevant today.

A Clockwork Orange was critically acclaimed as well - should we show it to students?

LOL. Relevant to today? That rules out pretty much every play put on in the HS . . .

this thread is simultaneously among the most ridiculous that I've ever read

Those that are bothered are mostly opposed to the positive portrayal of drag queens, both in the play and by the principal. They see this an attempt to force sexual topics and attitudes onto school children. For the most part, the play's critics have no idea what it is about other than that it has drag queens.
