Republicans Handing Out LIES at BTSN

The reason you feel this way is because you see the issue as having “sides” whereas those of us who believe what is good for the most marginalized in a community tends to improve things for EVERYONE.

What's the issue with this? I see no issue.

A community committee should reflect the community as a whole. When a large portion of the committee has connections to a certain group--in this case the LGBT community--it is not a representative group:
at least one transgender member
at least one parent of a transgender child
at least one who has sponsored LGBT groups

several very strong activists in the Dem party--including one who frequently speaks at SB meetings in favor of transgender kids
others where a google search indicates close ties to the Democratic party which includes activism

This is disproportionate number of voting members on the committee. Any wonder they are advocating for gender combined classes?

Good, I'm very glad the bolded are represented!

So, you support one sided committees. Got it. You have no respect for those who think the sexes should be separate for sex education.

DP. I had coed sex ed back in the 80s. It’s no big deal.

Oh, FFS. Having representatives on the committee does not make it one-sided.

This is the problem with the extremists in both parties. They twist everything into an asinine argument that is not at all based in reality.

You republicans are funny. You spend your time trashing schools, teachers, the superintendent, the school board, then turn around and whine when no one wants to appoint you to committees. You aren’t entitled to be picked.

Because they can't win arguments without lying or falsifying data.

Where is the handout?

Does the GOP post them online? Maybe you could start there.

There was a handout given out in the Providence District on scores that seem to be fraudulent.

Then, where is it? Not that hard to post it.

I'm not a terribly political person and just want balance on the school board. I hadn't thought to keep the flyer. If I find it I will post it. At the time I got it, I didn't know it was fraudulent. I posted this on around 9/4 on the thread on the school board. Maybe someone can fact check these statistics.

The flyer I just got on school math and reading scores is alarming. It doesn’t show all schools though. Just Providence district. Is there a chart for all schools? What the hell is going on at Graham Road? 68 percent math proficiency rate in 2022 and 17 percent in 2023? 57 percent reading now down to 32 percent? Did all the teachers just quit there? Out of 36 scores across 18 schools only six are even or better than the year before. 30 are in decline.

If it's fraudulent, I'm disappointed. It had me very concerned.

Was this handed out in Providence District? Are the scores accurate? When were the scores released? It would make sense if it were handed out in Providence District to just have Providence schools.

But, we still have not seen the flyer that was handed out.

It does seem like it was fraudulent. I did post that on 9/3 well before this thread was started. I'm looking at Graham Road Elementary and there is nothing wrong with their scores. They have gone down but in math from 96% to 88%. Not from 68% down to 17%,
The flyer was fraudulent. I'm very disappointed. I hate political people. They are some of the dumbest people that hurt their own causes.

Is this related to the SOL scores? They were not released until after Sept 3. So, where is the lie?

And, frankly, those Graham Rd scores look pretty awful--especially the truancy. But, people on other threads claim that truancy is not a problem with poor people.

FCPS school board is disgusting and should be disbanded. The only focus is equity rather than education

So post the material/link.

OP. For example, the paper said math proficiency rate in 2023 at Fairhill ES was 67%. It is 82%. The website used as the source said it was 65-69% for 2020-21. They are using outdated numbers and lying to us about it.

I think you are mistaken. This IS the 2023 school year, therefore no numbers yet

I'm tired of this bullshit and tired of people showing up at every school event with their political flyers - I don't care what party they belong to, I don't want to see them at my kid's school when I'm there doing something not at all politically related. They shouldn't be allowed.

So much this. I hate walking the gauntlet.

Some of the numbers were wrong or from 3 years ago during covid. It's lying. They clearly wrote the wrong years and used fraudulent data.

I know you are thinking you are making a point but you are just gaslighting. This thread is about a handout and whether it was factual or not. Obviously the people who made the flier of lies felt like it was important to them
