And apperently, the Ivies, MIT and UC Berkeley don't owe this aggrieved student anything.

No student is owed admission to any college, regardless of their accomplishments.

Trying to make sure no student is discriminated.

However 1450 kids get accepted with certain skin color or rich parents over 1590 kid because.... courage, kindness, and likability?

well, 2 of the schools he applied to are test blind, so probably yes at those. Or there was something they liked in those applications that he lacked--or something unattractive in his application.

For Harvard, it's courage, kindness, and likability however they evaluated the points.

Say what? And how do they get that from paper? And yes I went there so you have me confused

Asian American here. These schools are like lotteries now. My kids don’t have as high stats but my kids are more well rounded. For every kid that is rejected like the kid you mentioned, there is another with the same profile who was accepted.

My kids have perfect grades and will likely have a great SAT score. My kids are not owed admission to anywhere.

I went to college twenty years ago and I very clearly remember two Jewish kids and an Indian kid from my high school who got rejected from all the top schools despite their perfect grades and test scores. This story is not new. They ended up at UMich, Tufts and NYU. The two girls who got into Harvard did not have as high stats but they were amazing writers.

People also fail to realize that when affirmative action is overruled, these schools still can't accommodate all the kids with the perfect scores and grades, etc. Then what? There is no way these schools will adopt a system like China or India, which many people would like...

For those of you who moved here for the quality of education, but are now trying to make the US more like the system you left behind....pick your poison.

Sure. Pick your poison. Do it the San Francisco way: pay each Black person $5M to compensate for slavery. No Asian-American that I know of was a slave owner. There were Black slave owners and there were Native American slave owners, but no Asian slave owners in this country.

What does this have to do with anything? What does SF considering reparations, regardless of what you think of it, have to do with this? Or did you just want to use any opportunity to rant against the woke leftists in Norther California?

Sounds like they’re taking on a headache of a student. There are a gazillion kids with high scores. It gets your app read. That’s it

But the PRC kids are something else. And then to sue?

Might have to sell a Lambo or something

There are 2million+ test takers in a year, and only around 300 gets 1600

maybe 2000 for 1590?

Far far from gazillion

NP: Because of superscoring, there are way more 1550+ students than you think. The 300 you are reporting is for one sitting.

You are correct.

Hopefully the "Then what?" Is that URMs won't get blamed when mr. or miss "merit" gets rejected from a highly selective, or shall we say, rejective college.

Pretty sure these schools are more full of hooked athletes and donors than minorities. Let's put the blame in the right place.

No student should be owed admission to any college because of their race either.

And none of those colleges owe anything to Blacks either. Hispanics? They were not even slaves before.
