Bride killed hours after ceremony

I feel so sorry for the bride, who clearly had a narcissistic mother. Imagine all the unhappiness she endured only to have her future stolen just when she was really getting away from her childhood dysfunction.

Well now she'll get zip. GOOD.

One of the stages in grief is anger. My guess is the mom, who lost her daughter, is full of rage. She's taking it out on the poor groom. The anger is understandable, but she needs therapy to deal with it. I'll bet she's inconsolable and won't listen to anyone in her family who's tried to tell her to leave the groom alone.

She claims there “was no way the couple could’ve consummated the marriage before the accident which killed her, therefore the marriage is null and void and she rather than the husband is entitled to the marital estate”….

Unbelievable. The depths some women will stoop to is breathtaking.

Absolutely sickening.

I don’t think it’s a woman thing to stoop so low, more an unfortunate bad human thing.

I find it troubling that there’s an attorney taking advantage of her just to bring a meritless claim against another victim of this tragedy. The consummation argument seems like it ought to be sanctionable.

Are we living in medieval times? Was there going to be a check for virginity too?

I don’t think in SC consummation of marriage is required to validate the marriage. This claim, among all the others she has made, is baseless. She’s an awful person.

Well she'll succeed in giving all the money to lawyers. Congrats lady you are a b&tch.

Did they update the article? I’m not seeming any talk about consummation, rather the document relatives files contained false information (albeit technicalities) like claimed the relatives knew the couple for longer than the bride was alive, and that they lived together after the wedding, even though she died before she left the venue. I don’t agree with the lawsuit, and think the MIL is out of line, especially with regard to damages, seeing as the groom was severely injured in the accident too. But the whole concept of maiden hood doesn’t seem to be a factor in the lawsuit.

Maybe, maybe not. You never know what a civil jury will do. Depends on her lawyer. A good one will get her the whole thing.

If there is one thing the Murdaugh trial demonstrated to everyone, it is that there is no shortage of plaintiffs' attorneys in SC to sue everyone over everything.

Yeah that’s the truth. I think the entire economy of the Hilton Head area is based on revenue from frivolous lawsuit representation.

The drunk driver was just released on $150,000 bond yesterday. She’s still awaiting trial.

They thought a golf cart after dark was safe? Stupid meets stupid. Both at fault.
