What was DC like in the summer of 2000? I want some nostalgia

I liked seeing the fireworks on the mall without everyone holding up their pocket computers.

All the fun clubs were on K Street and you would line up in the alleyways to get in. The Spot and others that I can't remember. I was 20 and nowhere carded. Everyone smoked cigarettes. It was a great time.

What was that horrid bar on the waterfront - Sequoia? I drunkenly wet my pants there! Tryst, Cafe Deluxe, WEENIE BEENIE, Stetson's, White Tiger for Indian...Tony Cheng's and Full Kee in Chinatown!

Butterfield 9! Oh and I cannot forget the weird baked potato restaurant on Wisconsin Ave!

This was my list too!!! I was convinced I was going to meet my future husband at Stetson's.

I'm too old to go out anymore--what happened to the DC dance scene? are there still clubs to go dancing or have those all closed? I spent so much of my time out going to clubs in DC in the late 90s/early 2000s. What a time to be young and free.

Drinks at 4Ps, Cafe Citron, playing pickup soccer on the mall, kickball (barf), Pharmacy Bar, ChiCha lounge. Not sure it's quite 2000, but definitely 2001-2004.
