College and University Discussion
PP. I know what you said and I stand by my statement. |

No you haven't, troll. |
| Lol. +1. |
Both evangelical . “Biblical perspective”, “biblical doctrine” schools. How is that not remotely the same? One has old buildings and one is new? One is big and one small? The question was about being conservative, not the campus or size. |
Does anyone know what the political vibe is like at William and Mary? Is there a healthy mix of thoughts or does it lean so heavily one direction that half the people have to keep quiet about what they think? |
DAVIDSON SEWANEE AND RHODES ARE ALL MODERATE AT MOST |
DD at Baylor. Incredible community, you have to experience it to understand but it’s unlike anything I have seen. They have first year experience down to an art. Congrats, your kid will love it and Sic ‘em! |
If it leaned that heavily, how would half the people have to keep quiet??? Anyway, it's a rigorous, challenging thinking school--everyone is challenged about what they think. |
If you feel you “have to be quiet about what you think,” you should probably look in the mirror and ask yourself why. See lots of people trying to hide anti-lgbtq, anti-poor, anti-URM and anti-women views under the veil of “conservative values.” |
Without knowing what that half the people think that they have to keep quiet, it is hard to answer. |
I think maybe this is a perfect example of what I don't want in a college. I was just asking if it is a "thinking" college with a healthy mix of viewpoints and ideas or a "group-think college." The question wasn't about anti or pro views of anything. It wasn't even asked from a conservative viewpoint. Instead of clarifying the question, there was a rush to judgment and pinning of labels. I don't want that in a college. I want a "thinking" college where students ask clarifying questions instead of responding with unhealthy labels. I don't believe people are so awful that I need to always assume simple questions are rooted in hate. But, if it works for you, that is fine. I'd like to assume you are coming from a place of kindness in your response. Yes, this is an example of why people feel they have to keep their mouth shut. That rush to judgement and character assasination stops all conversation and eliminates good conversations and opportunities for growth. |
Sorry. The question wasn't asked well. I mean, do people respect all opinions? Is there healthy dialogue. Or, is the climate very one-sided. |
Friend. You post a lot. And you often have something worthwhile to say. But because it is *always all-caps screaming," it's pretty grating. Please turn that feature off and try to learn about lower-cap letters and how they can help your textual input. |
