Sewanee has conservative, Old South roots, but it's politically balanced today. Maybe even slightly left leaning.

Sewanee is not conservative.

Sewanee is not conservative.

Which I think is exactly what the PP said.

W & L is normal but very conservative
Hillsdale and Wheaton (the one in Illinois) are fringe pretending to be more intellectual than Liberty but about the same

Sewanee is not conservative. It’s Episcopalian.

Can the PP elaborate? What does this even mean?

"normal" in what context?

"very" conservative how?

I know about past glorification of the confederacy and lost cause. However, recently the W&L faculty and students voted to remove Lee's name. That doesn't sound very conservative to me. Maybe some of trustees and old guard alumni, but things have changed a little.

Comparing Hillsdale to Liberty is ridiculous. Hillsdale is a rigorous LAC with high incoming student stats.

Also, Wheaton and Liberty aren't remotely the same.

Yes, note that I said “pretending to be” . Like Johnathan Turley. You may graduate with a more sophisticated presence, read deeper books, or write more, but it’s still Liberty world view and “critical thinking”.

I said Wheaton in Illinois. Not Wheaton in Massachusetts. These two Wheatons have nothing in common.

Lots of schools do. Kids can find their group in just about any political stripe.

Normal as in true conservative, not the fascist party of modern times. Very as in a majority of the student population identifies as conservative.

I have worked with Liberty grads and Hillsdale grads. All lightweights lacking critical thinking skills.

And incredibly sheltered and uninformed.
