Please identify this kitchen tool

In cleaning out my kitchen, I came across the following, which I assume I must have purchased years ago, LOL, but I now have no idea what it is. All my ideas don't quite seem to fit, so I am turning to the collective wisdom of DCUM. Thanks!

OP here--I see that for some reason the post didn't post the picture I had attached. This was the first time I had tried to attach a picture to a post--could someone please explain how to do this? (I thought I knew but obviously not.) Then I will post the utensil picture.

Is it invisible?

flux capacitor

OP again--um, hello? I immediately afterwards explained why the picture wasn't attached and asked for help, but apparently people would rather be snarky, and were even so much in a hurry to be snarky, that they didn't bother even to read the previous posts.

you have to find the picture in a website (or post your picture to any website like facebook i.e.) and get the URL for it.

copy the address from the browser, paste on the reply window, highlight it and hit IMG button. you're good to submit it and we'll all know what it is

It's an invisible robot that cleans the kitchen.

I didn't mean to be *very* jerky with the first invisible post, I just happened to post at the same time you posted your second post.. I was just being silly.

Is it bigger than a breadbox? Wait, is it a breadbox?

Cooks Illustrated magazine has people write in with images of old kitchen gadgets and they tell you what it is. It's oddly fascinating.

OP, can you describe it?
Anonymous
OP again--I didn't realize it had to be from a website-what I tried before was: I took a picture of the item, dragged it Mozilla, got the URL, and cut and pasted it. That seems like what the PP is saying, but it didn't work for me. (Although I didn't "post" the picture, I dragged it from my computer.) Thanks.

Anyway, I'll describe it. It has a handle about four inches across. The sides (protruding from the handle at the sides) are also roughly the same length. At the top--the actual utensil part--are five curved metal pieces, each parallel to the other about half an inch apart from one another (curved outward as in an upside-down U). (The edges aren't really that sharp, but I suppose it could be some sort of slicer or cutter?) Any guesses welcome.

A potato masher? Or a pastry blender?

Also, upload your photo to a site like Facebook or Flickr, that'll give you the URL you need to post it here.

I agree, pastry blender.
