Now I'm confused. Is this OP's picture? |
No, I don't think the OP has posted one, I think that was someone else's guess/example? |
OP again--THAT IS IT! It is a pastry blender; it looks exactly like the ones in the Amazon pictures. DCUM at its best. Thanks everyone! (Now why would I have bought a pastry blender...that is a question even DCUM probably can't answer.
|
For making pie crust? That's the most common usage for someone who doesn't usually make pastry. |
| I'm not sure what is making me chuckle more...the fact OP didn't know what it was, why she had it or the fact she didn't know what it was called. Not making fun, just gave me a chuckle is all. (But I like to cook so I totally would have not only known what it was, but probably have used it once [but only once] within the last year.) |
| I either feel incredibly old or incredibly knowledgeable about kitchen tools. I was hoping it would actually be something that would keep me guessing -- a la Cooks Illustrated, as PP mentioned. |
OP...maybe you got it as a gift? My MIL gets me gadgets from Pampered Chef each year that I never know what they are--although with some...once I figure out what they are for, I wonder how I ever went so long without one
|
| I'm so happy this has been resolved. I was on the edge of my seat and thought I wouldn't be able to sleep if the identity of this mysterious kitchen tool wasn't revealed soon. |
this seriously made me laugh out loud!

OP, now you are morally obligated to make some pie crust, you hear?

| This was a fun game |
| Warp core array. |
Yep. It's what I thought: a warp core array. Better call Lt. Geordi LaForge. Engage. |
