Salmon is gross right?

Anonymous
I see salmon come up all the time as a go to meal...salmon cakes or just salmon filet but I find it so fishy and gross. I'm not originally from the northeast, grew up in fl where salmon wasn't the go to fish of choice usually but I just can't get past the fishy greasy taste. And salmon cakes just sound disgusting. Are people really making them from salmon from a can..like tuna...bleg. Am I missing something or is there a way to prepare that is really lovely and delicious?

Wild salmon is great. Salmon cakes and canned salmon are gross.

Its a matter of taste. I don't find salmon fishy at all, but I have never had canned salmon and don't find salmon cakes all that appealing. Grilled salmon however with a little butter and lemon...heaven!

Samon patties/cakes = gross!
Canned salmon = I'd rather eat dog food (literally)

Smoked samon = lovely and delicioso!

Fresh salmon is neither greasy nor fishy. Go to BlackSalt. The WF salmon is pretty terrible.

Having lived in Florida, I know people get a lot of grouper down there. It's sort of a white, flaky fish...thus very different from salmon. If you think salmon is gross, then there is plenty of other fish in the sea.

How much (I've done dirtier for less)? DH and the kids are gone for a few weeks, other than the 9-5, I have nothing but time and I meant every word. At very least, you should stop by to have a drink, though judging (DCUM style) by your spelling/grammar you've already hit the bottle. I don't really judge, I welcome!

The parasites use to freak me out, but if it is frozen they are dead. That said, had a live one the other day. The fish was frozen...most likely came from another fish, not the one I had....wiggle wiggle....I can give you links if you want them and yes you have consumed them! I think about 75-80% of fish have them and we are just not talking about salmon.

21:53 again - I heart California! I went to college and spent 10 years there! Come over, drinking alone is no fun!

What does this mean? You will eat frozen but not fresh fish. Sorry, but the kitty loves the {fresh} fishy. Mmm sushi.
