lol, so, no, you obviously did not take statistics. |
This is satire, right? |
You're both dumb. The NG is not riding the metro in DC. They apparently have patrolled some higher-traffic stations, but they are not on the cars. How would they have been able to stop this incident? |
LOL, no, this is not true. MPD would not be otherwise hanging out on the Mall or at Union Station. ![]() |
The only thing working is US taxpayers paying a million dollars a day for the national guard to do the work that the National Park Service should have been doing had the GOP/DOGE not slashed its budget and laid off staff. |
Unless there are national guard on every train, every bus and every street corner, things like what happened in charlotte will continue to happen, because there are bad people everywhere. |

National Guard, in measuring public sentiment about Trump’s federal takeover of DC, has assessed that its mission is perceived as “leveraging fear,” driving a “wedge between citizens and the military,” and promoting a sense of “shame” among some troops and veterans |
Yes. NG and military officials - this citizen has been 100% turned against the National Guard. I despise the sight of them. I now know viscerally what an occupation must feel like. Great job! |
Just waiting for some Dem to say “We are grateful for the reduction in murders, but it’s not sustainable for the NG to stay long term. That’s why I’m proposing new legislation to build on that success, etc…”
First person to do that gets to be the next Mayor. |
Honest question, how has the NG negatively impacted you? |
Nothing. PP just wants to preach about all the "injustices" of the world. Seeing DC cleaned up was very triggering to some bleeding hearts. |
Didn't need the national guard here to do that. You need federal prosecutors prosecuting crimes (they weren't and it isn't the DC AG's responsibility) and you need the funding for the MPD and various social services, which the GOP has cut. |
They only thing I've seen them do is spread mulch and pose for selfies. Those jobs seemed like they were already being done here in DC. They seem nice enough and I'm not intimidated by them, but I'm sure many of them would rather be back with their families and doing their regular jobs. A large percentage of NG are involved in law enforcement agencies, which are tremendously short staffed now across the country, so it doesn't seem great to pull them away from that job to spread mulch in a NPS park. |
By being armed and present for the purpose of politically motivated repression. |
False. |
