I’d like the national guard deployed everywhere, in cities, suburbs, and rural areas. Crime is everywhere in this country, and having tanks roll down Main Street USA is exactly what is needed.

I live east of the park and am complaining. National guard troops don’t solve homelessness or broken homes? Can people stop being stupid just for once???!!

I frequently go to DC in the evenings, and I am thrilled about this. Lots of areas have felt unsafe, and many friends have been ruffed up near the Stadiums.

I'm a DC resident and watched stunned last year at lunch hour as a carful of youths jumped out with hammers to smash the windows of the Tiny Jewel Box and grabbed 9 Rolex watches. I don't think they were ever caught and TJB no longer displays jewelry or watches in their windows.

Part of me would like to see a more proactive police force, but Trump's plan is a temporary bandaid at best. For 30 days the kids will stay away from the tourist areas (and these agents will have nothing to do patrolling there). Meanwhile the turnstile jumping, vandalism, car racing, shoplifting in high crime areas where these kids live will continue full force (I see it every day on Minnesota Ave).

Better would be using the FBI to help DC SOLVE crimes, like my neighbor who was shot dead while riding his bike home from work at 11:30 PM for no discernable reason and police have no suspect. FBI patrolling the streets is a waste of their time and our money.

+1 Ward 4 EOTP here and Trump deploying the National Guard is a much bigger threat to our safety than teenagers. He is pushing the envelope further and further and we will not recognize America when he's done.
