good egg-based restaurants in northern virginia?

You know, not IHOP/Dennys like, but a good quality egg-based breakfast restaurant.

Phoenix practically has one on every corner but I have yet to notice one here.

Surely it must exist in N. VA?

A second for Eggspectations. Just off Rt. 28 at Westfields.

There's a place on Main Street in Clifton thats got great b-fast. Yes, Eggspectation is good but Silver Diner has really stepped up with their menu changes and locally-sourced ingredients.
I find the Original House of Pancakes in Bethesda to be the best out of this area's locations.

Silver Diner is about on the same level as Denny's and Bob and Ediths is overrated and greasy. Neither like the places in Phoenix.

Well, never having been to that desert hell-hole, I can't say.

OP here, thanks for the recommendations.

I've never eaten at the Silver Diner but am willing to give each of these places a shot. I actually drove past Eggspectations today -- typically not in that area, but would like to go back and eat there now!

As far as "desert hell-hole", perhaps one should reserve judgement, having never been there! Their summers are akin to winters for the rest of us -- but I love the sun and warmth. I find summers here more miserable, honestly. Would live there in an instant were it a viable employment location for us.

I am not quite sure what an egg based restaurant is; do you mean like a breakfast diner? The nay egg based place i can think of is Eggspectations. But if you mean diners, there a few.

There are couple of good diners on 29 heading toward Arlington.

Amphora (in Herndon and Vienna) is pretty decent.

Silver Diner is nothing like Denny's, aside from being a chain. Their breakfast potatoes are butt, in my opinion, but the rest of the breakfast menu is good.

Also, try the Pancake House in Falls Church (moved over to rt 29, I think).

Yep, a good quality breakfast restaurant, but one centered around eggs rather than pancakes/waffles/heart attacks

Awesome, thanks for the list!

Eggs are high cholesterol unless they are egg whites, prepared with little/no butter. I assune you know that, though.

Anita's breakfast burritos are great.

Right, but there's a massive difference between a two egg omelette and going out to have some chocolate chip pancake platter at denny's. Eggs are healthy, provided one does not overdo it.
