good egg-based restaurants in northern virginia?

In DC, try Florida Avenue Grill (11th & FL NW) or Torries at Wilson's (across from Howard U Hospital). Great southern style breakfast. Get the salmon cakes too.

Right, but there's a massive difference between a two egg omelette and going out to have some chocolate chip pancake platter at denny's. Eggs are healthy, provided one does not overdo it.

So OP, do you mean a place that doesn't have those other items (pancakes, waffles, french toast)? Or just a place where you can also get a two-egg omelet? The "egg-based" restaurant question is a little odd! Maybe you could tell us the places in Phoenix you like and see if anyone knows of anything comparable?

Actually no they are not. That is old info -- eggs are actually very good for you. Even Dr. Oz suggests eating an egg a day.

I didn't post that, but yes they are. The "new" info is just that they may not increase your blood cholesterol.

I mean a place where there are many many different egg-based options rather than the primary focus being mostly unhealthy (or less healthy) food choices. The restaurants I refer to do indeed still offer pancakes/waffles but the offerings are generally of a healthier variety (whole grain, etc) and you're not going to find, for example, cheesecake-filled pancake stackers.

So I think maybe you should just avoid Denny's and IHOP and go to independent diners. Lots and lots of those around and you can get eggs a zillion different ways at pretty much all of them. Metro 29 in Arlington has eggs a-plenty - my favorite there is the omelette with feta, tomato and spinach made with egg whites and hold the potatoes. They even have grits there, which makes me happy.

The Daily Dish in Silver Spring has really delicious brunch dishes. I am partial to their poached egg dishes (one has poached eggs over greens w/ vinagrette, another has poached eggs over portobello caps with a red wine reduction). But those are only offered on the weekends. They also have a great challah french toast too, every morning. Not exactly an egg-based restaurant, but damn good poached egg dishes.

Yes, it moved over to 29 and the corner of Graham Road. It's great!

Amphora Diner on 123 in Vienna is also great with a TON of variety.
