She legitimately was born in Spain, though to two non Spanish parents who were on sabbatical there, and vacationed there every summer. She is Spanish since she was born there and I don’t really get an accent when I hear her speak. What is she faking?

Spain doesn't have birthplace citizenship. It's by descent only. Even if she was born there, she isn't Spanish under Spanish law.

There seems to be more ways than 1 to get Spanish citizenship. It's not just a birthright. Am I misunderstanding? If you have a residency permit you can apply for citizenship in 10, 2 or 5 years depending on circumstances. Its possible her parents have satisfied this.

https://www.immigrationspain.es/en/citizenship-by-residency/

Her parents moved there in 2011, the same year she met Alec... so, nope.

Did you even read it? You were so sure you had to be born there. You are uninformed.

Maybe her parents do which makes it easier for her. But you learned something new today, birthright isn’t the only path to citizenship.

She passes none of those requirements. Gee, you are uniformed.

The names with forgetting the English word for cucumber along with the darkening of the skin in the beginning along with the fake accent and name change —- then naming your kids that becomes weird.

You could be white and name your kids Niger and Morocco and it’s not super weird until you find our your mother claimed she was from Africa and used an African accent.

They are gonna be hella confused and worry about moms mental health. If Alec and Hillary ever divorce, he certainly has grounds for fraud and mental health issues re: custody

Celebs have messed up kids and lives. And water is wet. The kids will probably self medicate with drugs like loads of other celebrity offspring. Nothing new.

I can’t recall many “celebs” who have faked their ethnicity in the last half century

You think that's the worst thing people can do to their kids?

You’re an asshole. No one said it’s the “worst thing” you can do to your kids. Read or leave the thread.

No. Get a life and stop be an obsessed loser.

Ooo, burn. You’re a fantastic at debating.

Are we supposed to pretend that we don't know this is Hillary? That she has friends on this board defending her?

And no her mom did not fly to Spain while 9 months pregnant in the middle of med school to have a baby.

May I call cvs on your behalf? Several in the area are open 24hrs. We can get you on your meds and stabilized. You don’t have to live this way.

She just re-posted this from 2 years ago. Where'd the accent go? Lol

As someone with actual Spanish family from Spain, I can tell you for sure that someone born there is not automatically entitled to citizenship. Look, she is beautiful and seems to have a nice family, but she is not Spanish by being born there. That is not how Spanish law works.

I read this thread for the entertainment and please carry on, but I had to correct the PP who said she was Spanish because she was born there. She is not. Birthright citizenship is actually an issue in Spain now for various reasons which I won't go into now, but staying on topic: Hilaria Baldwin isn't Spanish by virtue of being born there.

She'd have to get her citizenship some other way (long-term residency, etc.) and I have no idea if she did that, but I can tell you for sure an American born to two Americans on Spanish soil does not yield a Spaniard.

Another way to get Spanish citizenship, if you are born in Spain, is to actually spend your first year of life in the country. After one year living in Spain your parents can request the Spanish citizenship for you. And this is not the case, from the 117 pages of mindless entertainment I just finished reading. I follow her on IG and I completely believed she was from Spain....granted, never actually heard her talking in Spanish for more than few secs. After this thread I went to look for some videos of her talking in Spanish and found one, an interview while visiting Spain with Alec, to Hola! En Español. That accent is not Spanish at all! It’s forced to sound like a Spaniard but she pronounces some words like she’s from Latinoamerica. I’m sure the Spanish press might think she has that accent after sooo many years living in the USA, that’s why her bs is not called. What a fraud.

I’m from Latinoamerica, and has lived my adult life in NYC. My husband (a USA citizen) and I moved to Barcelona, Spain a couple of years ago, and our daughter was born here. She is in the process of getting her Spanish citizen, that’s why I know that you certainly can get it, but that’s not Hilary’s case. On a related note, when I started following her on IG a couple of years ago, I mentioned it to a close friend of mine (who could not care less about celebrities in general) and he said to me, in the most unimpressed tone: “I know her, I introduced her to Alec at that restaurant on Irving Place. what’s the name? Oh I remember, Pure Food & Wine”. And the he started telling me the whole story, which btw it’s not exactly the story she and Alec tells to the media every time they are asked about it.

+1,000. That's the most absurd lie trafficked in all of this. "Maybe her mom flew..." No, no she didn't. Stop. No med student hopped on an international plane to have a baby in the 80s. It's laughable. She's American. She's a crazy fraud. Alec is no dummy, he is clearly in on it.
