+1 His morose expression just kills me. I keep thinking about him too. |
Yes. Rewatch. |
Exactly. |
That's true. I'm the one who asked the question, above, and I forgot that it was Kendall he actually told. |
Right- I interpreted playing both sides as playing Tom vs Kendall/shiv. He wasn’t intentionally betraying Tom, but he made a dumb call trying to go rogue. |
I certainly hope Jeremy Strong gets an Emmy. What a performance. And also Matthew Macfadyen. Brilliant actors. |
PP here - I apologize. I just rewatched it myself and saw that it was Kendall who was pushing Roman’s forehead into his shoulder really hard. Not Roman doing it to himself. My bad. |
Really? I'm the PP who first posted about this, and that's what I thought (Ken inflicting pain). I rewatched and honestly couldn't tell for sure. |
I think it was ambiguous on purpose. Just like the hand holding scene in the limo with Shiv and Tom. Was there love there or not? |
Makes sense. All four actors were brilliant in those scenes. |
I agree. Nobody here has mentioned what Sandy said as she was voting in the board room, I don’t remember word for word, but along the lines of, “Yes, because we want out.” I think that Shiv heard that, among the many other factors going into her vote. I also think that Roman deliberately insulted Kendall in the side room to give Shiv a chance to run. I was worried that Kendall was going to physically push her. I am relieved that the pregnancy survived the season. |
Less ambiguity there |
I think Karolina pulling her aside before the board meeting and suggesting there could be a real change was another turning point for her. Her "we're all BS" moment, because she realizes that Kendall is doing a poor imitation of their father, and she herself has no bite when it comes to fitting a whole woman in her head (she convinced the whistle blower to recant her story, and sold out to Menken she wouldn't change the ATN narrative if it meant she could be CEO...) |
Agree! The genius of the show (and these actors in particular) is that I rooted for all of them at various times, despite the fact that they were all terrible people. I loved Shiv, and was even kind of rooting for her and Tom half the time! |
I loved the finale. The kitchen scene was perfect. The beach scene with Shiv and Roman kidding about killing Kendall but bailing on it because it’s too much work is who they are. Damaged people who will never live up to their father’s “legacy”. I loved seeing Tom “win”, even though his version of winning is gross. Final thought: Eat The Rich. |
