At one point in Barbados, I think, Shiv floats the idea of letting the GoJo deal go through and proceeding with their previous plans, but the boys dismiss it. They could, theoretically, acquire Pierce with the proceeds from the GoJo deal, but that would require them to work together and that doesn’t look likely. In any case, the idea of them building/acquiring their own media empire was even more far fetched than taking over Waystar, and that was always a fantasy. [/quote]

I just scrolled through to make sure I’m not getting dementia, and it was Shiv. They were sitting out on the patio drinking rum punch after Kendall arrived. Shiv suggests letting the deal go through and going back to their previous plans for The Hundred. The Mom later also suggests “a clean start” would be good at dinner, but it all just proves the same point — they were never serious about any of it and really don’t have the capacity to pull it off. I agree. Nobody here has mentioned what Sandy said as she was voting in the board room, I don’t remember word for word, but along the lines of, “Yes, because we want out.” I think that Shiv heard that, among the many other factors going into her vote.

I also think that Roman deliberately insulted Kendall in the side room to give Shiv a chance to run. I was worried that Kendall was going to physically push her. I am relieved that the pregnancy survived the season.
