So is anyone in Congress going to tell Trump the reflecting pool….

Have they tried dumping piles of ivermectin in to the reflecting pool yet?

What a stupid thing to be so awful at.

It won’t reach the middle because there’s no circulation system. They just dumped the chemicals along the edges and it killed the bacteria there. It’s not going to migrate to the middle on its own. The chemicals will burn off and in day and the algae will be back on the edges too.

I also love that maybe they'll get it looking better for a couple hours, and then the algae will just grow back.

Even liberals who see it are impressed. Just like all the other monuments and fountains Trump has cleaned up.

A reminder of how the renovation of the reflecting pool went with Obama:

PP, you don't know the difference between a repair and a renovation. A renovation is a vanity project based on desire. A repair is a necessity based on a requirement. The REPAIRS Obama received APPROVAL from Congress to use to add structural linings, upgrade the infiltration process, reduce the algae, and repair cracks. Now I don't have a problem with Trump's vanity projects because they make the city look better. My problem is the sole source contracting to friends and family at costs well beyond industry norm. Who is getting the kickback?

Which vanity projects are making the city look better???

the giant 8647 burned into the grass on the mall between the washington monument and WW2 memorial.

Yesssss

Hey look they made something green again on purpose

They painted the grass? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I have a feeling Stephen Miller came up with that solution.

Tell me. When has the water been clean like a pool??

I mean it wasn't clean before, but painting it a dark color so it heats up more absolutely made it worse.

It's never going to be pristine but that doesn't mean spending millions to make the whole thjng grow more algae was a good idea.

It wasn’t. But Trump spent tens of millions on a promise it would be blue. And it’s way worse now than I’ve ever seen it before.

This front page story in the WP (with accompanying before/after photos) shows what a failure Trump's latest project is. He literally f's up everything he touches.

Reflecting Pool’s algae bloom is the biggest in years after $14M renovation:

An analysis of satellite imagery of the Lincoln Memorial shows algae levels spiked days after repairs to the long-troubled pool.

Photos taken by EarthCam between June 11 and 16 show algal growth across the Reflecting Pool.

I guess the good news is, one less thing for taxpayers to spend money on to remediate.

Girl, you need to ask Trump that question. That is what he promised. Intelligent people knew that the reflecting pool was not a literal pool, and what he was doing was making it worse. The reflecting pool is nothing more than an excavated manmade lake. When have you ever seen a manmade lake blue and clean? That's right, never. And neither has Trump, but then he thought he knew more than the scientists, environmentalists, and others.

How much will it cost the taxpayer to get this pool back to as environmentally safe as possible? You know it cannot remain in the condition that it is now. Not longterm.

The check for this pool company should be halted and the taxpayer's are due a refund.

FWIW, hydrogen peroxide is a fairly safe way to kill algae. I have a bird pond that hosts tadpoles this time of the year, and if the algae gets really bad, I add hydrogen peroxide to it (one cup for about 10 gallons). It's totally safe for the tadpoles and birds. Of course, that dude is going to need a whole lot more, and since it degrades quickly in sunlight, it's best to apply it at night.

Yep. Or we could have just left it better than this. You know, the way it was.
