No it's not true and it's also not necessarily true that they are camping in OPM. Right now Musk is on a campaign to claim the feds are lazy for not working 120 hr weeks like the super duper tech workers and "LOL feds don't work weekends so I'll destroy USAID on a Saturday." But I'm sure people in DC will know if DOGE is there since they have all been doxxed. They didn't realize that working in public service meant your actions are available for public scrutiny.

+1000 They can read the news just like everyone else and see that they are causing harm and doing things that violate federal law. Ignorance or being lead around by Elon is not an excuse. They made a choice. When the calls for them to be tried for treason, they should standup just as courageously as they seem to be when being okay with firing people who know better than them.

They didn't have their social media and online presence scrubbed so were not aware of what it means to be a public official.

Elon Musk’s takeover of federal government infrastructure is ongoing, and at the center of things is a coterie of engineers who are barely out of—and in at least one case, purportedly still in—college. WIRED has identified six young men—all apparently between the ages of 19 and 24, according to public databases, their online presences, and other records—who have little to no government experience and are now playing critical roles in Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) project, tasked by executive order with “modernizing Federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity.” The engineers all hold nebulous job titles within DOGE, and at least one appears to be working as a volunteer.

The engineers are Akash Bobba, Edward Coristine, Luke Farritor, Gautier Cole Killian, Gavin Kliger, and Ethan Shaotran. None have responded to requests for comment from WIRED. Representatives from OPM, GSA, and DOGE did not respond to requests for comment.

Are musk and his minions staying someplace near the WH like the St Regis? In the past week, I’ve noticed a white guy who is maybe 30ish walking two German shepherds at McPherson square. I know all the dogs and I e definitely never seen them before. Wondering who has brought their dogs.
