Kudos to McConnell. I am not a Republican but this is the type of leader the Democrats need.

Consuming mass quantities of alcohol will result in poor decisions and can come back to haunt you. To parents it should be a message that you need to tell your sons and daughters to never be afraid to tell you when something has happened and that you will support them regardless.

Blasey Ford should not have been afraid to approach her friends and parents with what happened. Had she done it at the time there could have been justice. If she would have told just one person what happened at the time it happened, Kav would have been toast.

Even thought Kavanaugh ended up not he court, his life and reputation will be forever changed and not for the better.

Spoken exactly like someone who was not assaulted, let alone as a teenager.

+1. Please point us to the thread where you say that priests accused of sexual assault should be allowed to stay in their parishes, because none of the boys accusing the priest told their parents or police at the time of the assault. Many waited decades. Why is Kav different? Rich and well connected? Supporting pedo priests lets you own the libs?

Or is it this: We know boys would never lie because gay rape is horrific and gay sexual assault is shameful. So is being the object of a gay advance. Boys don’t speak up because people look at them with pity and disgust and they will be stigmatized and if the Church is well connected, ostracized. Plus, you would have to go to War with a powerful institution (the Church) and maybe your friends would choose the Church over you.

Contrast Dr. Ford who was raped by a rich, smart, handsome, popular athlete. In this situation, you think that deep down a woman should be a little honored that a guy who is an 8 and could have almost anyone chose her. Why would she feel ashamed? Heck this might even HELP her self esteem. Especially since you haven’t had a chance yet to inspect her outfit, behavior, sexual history and drinking habits to point out why it is all her fault. If there was a “miscommunication” she shouldn’t feel ashamed or scared. In fact, she should feel good about herself for being doable.

Of course if she becomes pregnant as a result of the sexual assault, she should be forced to carry the baby.

Any take you seriously. Ford never claimed she was raped

^^^^^^^^. That is what “Why didn’t she report?” is saying. Is that what you want to say?^^^^^^^^

Electoral college denied America the popular vote winner.

No. Donald Trump is the duly elected President. He won the Electoral College. That is the way the Constitution says it works.

+1 I think some posters here are so young that their history and social studies classes didn't really emphasize the Constitution and how it works. Other aspects of our country's history have been given more emphasis.

God no. Let us never be that evil. I'd rather die. I will follow the way of Christ.

Party time at SCOTUS! 100 Kegs or bust!
Boofin Brett told Clueless Collins I will be so just.
But now I'm in the seat for life and all that's in the past.
So chicks and blacks and all those losers kiss my preppy a$$.

From blacking out to donning robes, it it has been quite a ride.
Had to cover up some stuff, and kiss some Trumpy hide.
All the women in my life stuck with me through this noise. And now I can deny them all their right to have a choice.

I drank my way through 25, but always topped my class.
And then I spent a bunch of years exploiting Clinton's past.
Then I helped Bush and my bosses legalize torture.
Then I spent a decade showing I was quite mature.

That's all it took to make it to the nation's highest court;
I almost made it all the way with very strong support.
But then those women spoke up; I was close to falling short.
Now I will have the last laugh - shredding modern rights for sport.

If they think it's only meaningful if things go the way they want, then I can see how they'd think it's ineffective.

I think they think it allows a rural minority for force their will on the majority.

Just think, if the Russians hadn't manipulated votes and voters, and the Republicans hadn't supressed votes, perhaps it would have made a difference. On the other hand, McConnell had already stated that she wasn't getting any nominations through, so your theory is sort of bunk.

As a non partisan I know that both sides manipulate the vote. As well, they manipulate/control the nominees in many states by obstructing the vote of those who aren't party members.

As for McConnell....no way does he obstruct the process for 4 years. Less than 2 years in and Trump has 2. She would have as well. Might not gotten as liberal a justice as she would have wanted but that would have been a good thing. In fact, had the left taken the Senate, even by a slim margin, I would expect lesser than as conservative as the right would have wanted would have occurred. Which would, in my opinion, have been a better outcome than we have had.

50 to 48 is a majority of votes cast.

Cryin' Kavanaugh has a 31% approval rate.

Congrats, you destroyed SCOTUS.

Here's a newsflash - Supreme Court justices aren't elected, thus "approval rates" really don't apply to them.

But politics does affect them, much as they want you to think it doesn't.
