All of the teams that are state playoff candidates have fairly similar strength of schedule, save Indy. Madison has/had the toughest single matchup in STAB. Robo, Battlefield, YT all have solid slates. Outside of Loyola and Battlefield, Indy plays the little sisters of the poor for two months.

And what does SOS get you? All that matters are wins in District, Regional and State playoff games.
Period end of story.
If you goal is to play the toughest games and win individual awards, you miss the point. I don't see any banners hung for "toughest schedule".
You hang a banner for State Champion and if thats not your goal, well........

Kind of like the Pats this year. Everyone was talking about how good they were this year but they played no one. In the end they lost. Just like Indy.

Such a shortsighted comment. Are those wins the most important? Of Course. Does playing a tough schedule teach you how to deal with adversity and can help you in late season playoff games? Better to be prepared for situations you won't find yourself in by playing a soft schedule throughout the season. All of the top teams above have learned this lesson over the years and schedule the toughest teams for a reason.

Exactly. Not all districts are created equal so the teams with state title aspirations have to challenge themselves to prepare for the playoffs. West Potomac played Langley, Madison, Ireton (meh - but still), Northern, Severna Park, South River and Battlefield in the regular season which set them up to finish the season with wins over Robinson, Yorktown, Battlefield and Cosby to bring home the title. Regular season challenges can lead to postseason success.

Indy just has a different way of doing things. Dulles South culture is now in Va 6a HS lacrosse. Oh joy.

long time follower, not really a poster, but the jealousy of these posters against Independence is amusing.
Face it, they have a good team, will most likely win states this year. It happens folks, get over it.

Not sure how it works across the various counties, but some coaches dont have as much input into who they play. Some AD's ask for input, some let the coaches figure it out with a list of dates, and some say here's your schedule. Its also hard to get games as some counties play on Tuesday and Thursday, so Tuesday/Friday, so lots of back-2-back games.

Why hasn't Indy's HC son not been playing? Aka the Indy slasher.

Well, we'll know a little bit more about the Spartans in about 90 minutes for sure. My guess? Pretender. However, it would be cool if they are, indeed, legit.

Indy looks like a glorified JV squad. You heard it hear first. Overrated.
