Yeah, it's not like the Republicans were doing so great when they were in charge, either. What's their solution now?

Cut Medicare ... but only for the future. They're reliant now on people who want government out of their Medicare.

No cuts to defense. But oppose any wars Obama starts but give Bush years of free passes.

Cut taxes for the rich in the hopes they might create jobs. Just like between 2001-08, right?

The answer is elect people who know what made this country great. Limited government, capitalism, personal responsibility, judeo-christian ethics, rewarding innovation without allowing monopoly, states rights, charity. Not perfect but the best system that has ever existed and it would never fall apart like socialism/communism/monarchy. We have become way too socialist and we will fall if we don't change (which I think we will).

mc cain and bush suck. They are too socialist. Herman Cain would probably be great but can't get elected. I really wish socialism worked but the fact is...it doesn't. Helpless people with no skills rioting in the streets is about as low as a people can get.

I totally agree: time to get back to the policies of FDR and LBJ. Also restore the power of organized labor. Ever since the election of Reagan, this country's been going into the shitter.

I love this exchange. It really typifies the way we split in our interpretation of reality, whether it be historic or economic. It's as though liberals and conservatives are living in two separate worlds but interact with each other like it is one place.
