Church is on its last legs. Somehow I got a surveymonkey basically asking why we don't go and what's next. How they grifted a beautiful METHODIST church and turned it into a God?Maybe? Church and concert venue is something else. The fact is, they don't own any of it so if ANC fails the land will go back to the UMC so I supposed no real loss. But my family hasn't been since they ran a series about all of the ways that white people suck by centering white people and ignoring embarassingly few nonwhites in the congregation. That's when I told my spouse it was time to bounce. |

I don’t know how they stay afloat financially. On Youtube it looks like there are like 40 people there on good day. But I guess they don’t really have expenses either. The electric bill I guess. Jason has a day job so I guess he’s not paid a full salary. Brandon & Tray never were.
Their youth ministry person just left, probably because there’s no, you know, youth. My kids hated it when we went there. |

Meanwhile, here is one of the most liberal cities in the US, the conservative churches that ANC always branded so uncaring and out of touch are bursting at the seams and have to add more services to accommodate all the new members. Go figure. |

The only thing I may disagree with is the pressure to drum up finances as a single mom. I WOULD possibly see it that way if it weren’t for her expensive vacations, retreats or whatever almost every month. I think she needs to prove to the world and herself that she’s successful by portraying this exotic lifestyle and as her books and conferences have dried up, she’ll grift however she can to keep up the pretense. |

Good point. Her brand new bronco, the tummy tucks, Botox/fillers, endless me vacations, designer purses, stylists (a simple cotton dress from Able is $105) bragging about her powerless with financial planning are all to tell the world Brandon didn’t break her cause she’s winning at being a divorce’. Glennon actually affirmed this on their podcast. Who on earth is she competing with? The women who fell apart post divorce and were naturally grieving in ways that precluded their ability to go into high achiever mode. I assure you those who went straight through the eye of their grief storm will exit healed sooner than she who tried to outrun it with overachieving. Even her relationship with Tyler has this forced dynamic to it. She’s trying to outperform her pain.
After researching causes of narcissism being overly praised by parents is a cause. As is overprotection by parents. So Jen’s overly affirming dad and permissive mom in a highly protective Christian culture may have helped facilitated this outcome. I’ve resisted believing she’s a bona fide Narc but the evidence is piling up. |

Yeah a lot of narcs were not abused but the “golden child” of the family who could do no wrong - think wife murderer Scott Peterson. Which is actually a form of abuse. I’ve seen it with my kids’ friends who parents never told them no and always bailed them out. Sadly most of these kids end up in rehab because that’s not the way the world runs.
I can totally see Jenn being the golden child. Like Ben is to her. This may be one time when w kids traumatic origins help him in the end or he could have been a narc himself. |

Her book club is $29.99 a month. If only a couple thousand people joined out of her half million followers - and she only took half to offset cost of products and shipping…that explains some of her income but I’m not sure??
Maybe her podcast ads as well? Especially when she has on more famous people that alone probably gets a ton of listens for revenue? I can’t figure out how some of these people make so much either. |
