50 to 48 is a majority of votes cast.

Cryin' Kavanaugh has a 31% approval rate.

Congrats, you destroyed SCOTUS.

Here's a newsflash - Supreme Court justices aren't elected, thus "approval rates" really don't apply to them.

Don't blame me...I have never been in favor of him being on the SCOTUS. I also don't abide bullshit partisan politics and ignoring facts.

Just keep living in your own reality.

...Did you learn a different math than I did? Or are you just being willfully obtuse?

It’s a majority of a valid quorum with Daines and Murkowski “paired” you abject moron above. Go back to grade school.

I thought Bush v Gore did that.

Whatever you want to say about it, 50 is NOT a majority of senators.

Says Kavanaugh supporters, after he had a temper tantrum on television.

I think being accused of gang rape might do that to a man

And you are about to find out what putting a man who assaults women on the supreme court does to women.

These are serious charges - I'm sure you have proof.

Given Ford's lawyers just announced they won't be pursuing charges, apparently they don't have proof either

They were hoping he'd be withdrawn, and their mission would be accomplished. Didn't happen that way.

It was a majority of the voting senators. Murkowski voted present, as she “paired” her vote with the absent Daines, who was out of state walking his daughter down the aisle. Had Daines been on the floor, he would have been a yes. And Murkowski would have been a no. That is why the vote was 50-48 instead of 51-49.

Math challenged? It WAS the majority of the vote taken in the confirmation today. Impressive? Hell no. But that doesn't change the mathematical certainty that 50 to 48 is a tad over 51%. Hence, a majority.

She’s probably tired of the death threats and thinks fighting the system and the wealthy-powerful alliance never works.

It’s enough to win. That’s how it’s done. There’s a winning side and a losing side. 30 years of getting a trophy just to show up has skewed your thinking

bet you never got a trophy. loser.

Why do you guys always start with the name calling when you lose?

You taught us how to do that.

Your side is the side that wants to shut everyone up who doesn’t fall in line.

You just shut up everybody but the extremely wealthy.

Actually wealthy people are much more like to vote Democrat

Yes, so it is a mystery as to why the republicans want to give them even more money through tax breaks. Republican politicians seem to love democratic plutarchs.

No. They just endorse the idea that people own their paychecks, not the government.

They think the wealthy own everybody's paycheck. But, you seem to think you are one of the wealthy who get everything while the rest of us sell our kidneys to pay for our diabetes medicine. Bet you aren't, though. Bet you are just one of their stupid stooges who have exaggerated self estimate.

Because they can’t win any argument on the merits. So they call names, scream, and make bizarre claims that we are headed for some dystopian reality.

We are because we are going to make one for you that is as bad as the one you have forced on us.

Not that that has any real meaning. Try again with some substance.

There will be a dystopian reality with people screaming at each other, no self control, no regard for the truth. All rules are gone now. There is nothing to control American behavior. We are in the dystopia right now. When a supreme court nominee is coached to yell and scream, we are there.

1. He wasn’t ‘coached.’ So take that out of your talking points.
2. He was completely calm during 1,200 questions and 30 hours of testimony.
3. When he got (too) emotional at the hearing in which he was accused, he was not there to defend his name.

We are in the top 10%, closer to 5%, and I will be giving my accountant my final estimates the first of December so they can figure my last quarterly payment. I have sent the same amount plus 5% as I paid last year over the first three quarters. I am very curious about what my tax total will be and compare it to last year.
