It's a low-tier academic school with a unbelievably high-tier athletics program. Nothing to be ashamed of, but let's not fluff them up to be something they're not.

Since you are interested in SJC academics and were the students decide to attend college. Follow along.

There is a lot that goes into the decision on where you want to attend HS if your going private. I big factor is many boys don’t want to go to a small mostly white all boys school. They actually want to have some diversity.

They like to ask why Prep and other schools won't schedule them.
They are partly to blame. SJCHS wants/has to schedule out of conference games early. Prep and Landon do not practice year round like SJCHS, and SJCHS only wants to schedule Prep and Landon in the first couple of weeks of the season. Prep is just getting warmed up and getting their team together, and Landon, who I hear has a lot of multi-sport kids and didn't even have its team selected before their spring break, do not want to play a team in mid-season form when they are just getting started. If SJCHS would agree to schedule other local powerhouses later in the season, when the field is more level, maybe other local programs would be willing to schedule those games.
Blah Blah Blah, Bullis-they also play year round as a team. The only teams that follow the rules in the IAC are Prep and Landon. Bullis, StA, and SSSA all practice as teams throughout the year in violation of IAC Rules.

Maybe the WCAC will divide into two divisions and that would open up room in the schedule for Ireton to schedule appropriate competition and and SJCHS to schedule more appropriate competition.

Now the excuse is they aren’t ready to play SJC when the season starts? Probably the most truthful thing I’ve read here from an IAC parent.

It’s not about players wanting to transfer to SJC. It’s about coaches knowing they aren’t ready to play the local powerhouse down the street.

When everyone at SJCHS plays year round and Prep or Landon doesn't play year round and many Prep and Landon kids play more than one sport, both teams will not be equally prepared at the start of the season. That isn't an excuse, that is a fact.

Why won't SJCHS agree to play non conference teams later in the year when those teams are ready to play?

a pathetic part of the SJC administration to not allow the Cadets to play GP next week.

The prep privileged think everyone should jump when they are ready. They really couldn’t handle Coach Speaks turning them away because he had more respect for his good friend than the admin at Prep do. I respect that and glad he stayed at St. John’s.

Prep wouldn’t schedule the game because they knew they weren’t ready for St. John’s at any point this season They scheduled 3 MIAA schools to start the season and scheduled weak out of conference teams the rest of the season ie St. James and Ryken. They were ready to play them but St. John’s is on another level so they said no. Classic ducking.

All of the top players at Prep focus on lax all year round. It’s a joke to say they weren’t ready to play to start the season. They play club, Committed Combine, Project 9, Best in class, and any other event in the fall to get noticed and to stay ready to play. Go over to Kabiri’s IG and you will see he should have been ready to play anyone. Pretty pathetic if you really think about it to say those players weren’t ready.

Only people not ready was Preps admin. They weren’t ready to lose another game to St. John’s.

Find another excuse -

1. They take our players
2. We weren’t ready
3. ?

Pathetic

Prep wouldn’t even play St. Anthony’s when they were in town to play St. John’s the second week in April. They said no thanks. Guess they weren’t ready in April for that level of game either. Take a look at the prep schedule. The first half is much tougher than the 2nd half of the season. #ducking

This is just not true. The kids may be practicing on their own or in groups of no more than 5-6 with a coach, but they definitely are not having team practices before the end of February when IAC rules allow them to.

But the PP who said the kids are working out year-round with their club teams, or on their individual skills is 100 percent correct. To the extent programs have strong off-season conditioning, winter indoor play and club kids makes all the difference come spring season.

Bottom line is the players that are committed to lax play all year round in some manner and are always ready to play more.

The nonsense of they aren’t ready at the beginning of the spring season is just a BS excuse.

Please point me to the top Lacrosse players that play multiple sports at any of these schools? I’ll wait.

3 guys on a roster of 48 players played another sport? But the team wasn’t ready to play St. John’s when the season started?

That sucks. No other stream added?

Why doesn’t the IAC play the Championship game at a neutral venue like the WCAC?
