What is exactly the motive to join VRSC? I don’t need to hear about bars, extra field space or any other unsubstantial metric. I’m talking purely from development and pedagogical instruction of the game. |
It’s a better option than EDP, one must assume in a few years they will be a successful GA team. Scouts do watch GA showcases period. If you make the GA1 team you will be seen. |
In a few years isn’t going to cut it for parents shelling out 10-12K yearly between club fees, out of state travel, lodging and any other miscellaneous. Also, why will the “be a successful GA team”? |
It’s clearly the fancy uniforms and nice golden coaches jackets. |
No coach wants a lifeless player like what they were seeing last week. At this rate D3 might be an option. |
Tell us what level of collegiate sport you played? |
Amherst, Hopkins, Williams Sounds good to me |
MIT, Tufts, U of Chicago, Emory, Caltech, CMU, … Only an idiot soccer dad would want their kid to go to Western Kentucky or some unknown college with 99% acceptance because…checks notes…it’s D1. |
Only a handful of teams are EDP. The rest are NCSL. So there really is no sports-motivated reason to get fleeced by a club started out of hatred and jealousy towards their neighbors the RealRed of Loudoun |
Only idiot blog poster would think a player wouldn't prefer a top D1 school to go to MIT to play soccer. How many players have you seen from NOVA that went to MIT to play soccer in last 10 years? Almost none. You are a DS. In fact, none of the schools you mentioned had many recruits from our area. Duh. What do you have against Western Kentucky anyway? Did your kid not get in there? LOL |
No need to end that with, "LOL." It wasn't the least bit funny. |
One girl from Maryland who played for Pipleline. As they are discussed on this board, I'll count that as a W. Girl who played for McLean Girl from Arlington A girl from Kensington who played for Maryland United FC. One from Potomac who played for Bethesda And one from Clarksville, MD who won Washington area player of the year. As this is the DCUM (and dads) I'll take that as a W also. That is six going back from their 2024 roster to their 2014 roster. I'd imagine that is more than you thought before you started trying to troll. You did zero research and really didn't think this through. Before you "Yeah but, it's not NoVa." These kids all played in the area discussed on this message board. You lose. LOL |
To their credit, "almost none" is correct. One a year from the highest educated population in the world is not a good record. We do have TJ which consistently send students to these schools but they are not soccer players. |
She was the intermural champion |
I disagree. Consider the size of a college team roster and that it is not 100% turnover every season. Six kids from the area in ten years is not bad at all. Also consider females, having TJ here doesn't matter, are historically underrepresented in STEM occupations. Often they prefer to go into another field. MIT is a niche university. You aren't going there to be an English teacher, etc. This also would reduce the number of players who may want to play there. And finally, who would want to support that a$$hole? All he/she/they do is troll here. LOL LMAO ROTFL |
