Several students at St. John’s are heading to Ivys and other high level academic universities. Your HS doesn’t dictate where you go to college you do. These IAC folks are blind. |
| Was IAC championship today or is it tomorrow? Saw GAMEDAY post today. |
SJC may be at capacity, but it’s a glorified public school and a safety for academically successful students. They offer tons of scholarships to try to lure academically strong students and talented students, whether in athletics or the arts. I personally know multiple students who have received scholarships for academics, athletics, and the arts. Most students who get into better schools don’t chose SJC unless they want/need the money. At our elementary school everyone applied to SJC as a backup/safety and the only kids who attended were the ones who didn’t get into the better schools or wanted the scholarships. Back in the day it was the school that kids went to after they were kicked out of other schools. SJC is trying desperately to change that reputation, but still not an academic powerhouse and not a school many kids want to attend, unless it’s their best option. That being said no one from an IAC school is transferring to SJC unless they have to. Easy Mom. Your bitterness is going to eat you up inside. You sound mad. Schedule a pedicure or a massage. |
An SJC starting attackman transferred from an IAC school after last spring. Fact. In the current landscape where you can go to a great academic school if you are good enough as a player (multiple Bullis kids to Ivies, etc.), SJC being a tier down in terms of academic name recognition is way less of a problem than it used to be. Speaks has also done nothing but win since he arrived, including a #1 undefeated season, several recent alums have had an immediate impact in the college game (Haley, Rhoa, Checo), and there is a returning player who is the #1 recruit in the nation for the 2024s (Duenkel). While he and his staff getting plenty of hate from the Gonzaga/Prep corners of these boards, you don't hear players or parents complaining at all about the program. They have also leaned into having effectively year-round lacrosse players, which is a want for some kids. TLDR; there are lot of reasons to look at SJC as an incoming ninth or transfer. |
It was the IAC Championship for JV today. STA vs Bullis. Bullis won 11-9. Bullis pulled down several players from Varsity (those that had little to no playing time this year). A couple of STA parents told us that they did not pull down any Varsity players for the game today. Bullis was up by 6 or 7 goals going into the 4th quarter. They put in the "true" JV and it became a close game. Congratulations to Bullis for winning the IAC title! They had a great season! |

hate to break it to you, SJC accepts basically anyone.
If you aren't getting accepted into SJC, you clearly aren't that bright or you have terrible character recommendations. |
Many lax players at SJC got into Prep, Landon, Bullis and St. Albans. Decided to join a winner. Sorry if that upsets you. They were all offered $$$ from those 4. If your son didn’t get $$ it’s just that he isn’t that worthy. It’s ok. |
IAC and their JV trophies. 😂 |
St. John’s JV worked that Bullis JV team. Send them the trophy. |
| For the last time no one cares about JV |
| It’s true Johnny gardiner is leaving Gonzaga. They officially announced captains for next year and he wasn’t one of the 3. Freddy Fowler , joe matan and James gardiner(johnnys cousin) all got named captains for next season. What is the gonzaga coach thinking? |

SJCHS had a great team last year and a very good one this year.
They like to ask why Prep and other schools won't schedule them. They are partly to blame. SJCHS wants/has to schedule out of conference games early. Prep and Landon do not practice year round like SJCHS, and SJCHS only wants to schedule Prep and Landon in the first couple of weeks of the season. Prep is just getting warmed up and getting their team together, and Landon, who I hear has a lot of multi-sport kids and didn't even have its team selected before their spring break, do not want to play a team in mid-season form when they are just getting started. If SJCHS would agree to schedule other local powerhouses later in the season, when the field is more level, maybe other local programs would be willing to schedule those games. Blah Blah Blah, Bullis-they also play year round as a team. The only teams that follow the rules in the IAC are Prep and Landon. Bullis, StA, and SSSA all practice as teams throughout the year in violation of IAC Rules. Maybe the WCAC will divide into two divisions and that would open up room in the schedule for Ireton to schedule appropriate competition and and SJCHS to schedule more appropriate competition. |
| Season is not over isn’t there a game tonight? |
