GA is a newer league. ECNL pounced after the collapse of DA. GA actually is improving (and it's easy because it's hard for 1 league to maintain such a dominance) -- it's why ECNL is playing the numbers game with the scouts/schools at showcases.

It appears that GA P4 recruits are actually going down. Not sure if that is because some bigger name clubs have left, taking their P4s with them or if the general skill level is going down. or both.

This is the definition of a leading question.

I could just as easily ask you...
How do you know you're gay if you've never been with a woman?

OK, make it simpler, I will post the actual numbers and then you can tell me the whys? Will that make you feel better counselor? šŸ˜‚

32 teams have 4+ P4 commits in the class of 2026. 6 of those are GA. 26 are ECNL. And, just to remove doubt, Nationals are not one of the 32 teams so they are not skewing anything. So no leading questions just facts. ECNL simply dominates GA for high level soccer recruits.

Looking forward to rebuttal or moving of goalposts or whatever else you got……… counselor……….

Hey one trick poney your cherry picked stats mean nothing. It would be fun to track how many of those hit the transfer portal or how many get replaced by transfer portal players.

If my ā€œone trickā€ is to position my kid to play for a P4 team then i will wear that with pride. What else should we be looking at? Uniform color?

You keep saying cherry picked. These are the raw numbers. Why dont you ā€œcherry pickā€ your best GA recruiting stats and post them if it is so easy to manipulate the data. If you need help with pivot tables, let me know!

Since it is clear you dont like analytics, lets help you understand that ECNL will 100% lead the race for transfer portals since they make up 3-4X the number of college players in the first place. And, if they do get replaced by transfer portal players, where do you think the transfer kids played club soccer? šŸ˜‚

What I think you want to know is if they transfer at a higher RATE than GA.

Here's a pretty good GA recruitment: https://www.facebook.com/soccerdotcom/posts/trinity-rodman-turned-up-at-girls-academy-to-showcase-the-adidas-sparkfusions-sh/1308477440637184/

The reason shes at a GA event is because Trinity played for Socal Blues when they were DA (Development Academy) and still has connections to former DA now GA leadership.

This is something iamsoccerdork would never understand because Blues play in ECNL now.

More likely she showed up because her brand sponsor told her to vs being due to personal relationships with GA leadership. But who knows.

Maybe its because GA is sponsored by Adidas as is Trinity

Completely by choice. Had multiple opportunities at D1 level but decided to go pre med public ivy instead of dealing with all the drama around college soccer. Good luck with transfer portal, internationals, and 25% scholarshipsšŸ˜‚

Congratulations to you and your daughter!

Speaking of cherry picked manipulated data...

More girls ECNL players hit the transfer portal in their first year than any other girls league?

This!! I don’t care how many girls commit to a program out of high school. I want to know how many girls actually played all 4 years, got significant playing time, graduated with a degree, were happy with their choice and experience at college. These are the stats I want to see. Ecnl, Ga, who cares. Committing is not the goal, having a positive college experience is.

Once you get to the Collegiate level nobody cares what youth league you played in. Either deliver on the field or get replaced by a player that will. Theres only so many graduating seniors (aging out eligability players might not be seniors) per team. Its probably a 10 to 1 chance for starting positions if you play the entire 4 years.

Committing is the goal. Without committing there is no play or experience. Idk what you’re talking about with such a stupid statement.

If players decide to transfer due to lack of PT that’s not a knock on ECNL or GA.

Is MLSN1 the same as academy? Are they all free?

ECNL podcast had prez and vice prez saying clubs in other leagues aren’t on the save level as ECNL. Mentioned the narrative that clubs leaving for better leagues is false.

Are they reading our forum? Lol

Nothing says "worried about other leagues" like calling them out and saying something negative.

First they ignore you,
Then they laugh at you
Then they fight you
Then you win

Those two are a couple of ding dongs that think they have the soccer iq of Klopp, the business acumen of John Henry, and the foresight of Rinus Michels. They are literally no better than your average classic coach, except they have power and authority of the 2nd best boys league and best girls league in the country. We must hang on their every breath.

Hahaha "ding dongs" is the right word.

Their world is closing in on them and they know it.

Hahha, my sweet summer child, they made a hash of this.

A MLS Academy is a program directly attached to an MLS team and is often free. These teams play in MLSN tier 1, now named Homegrown Division.

MLSN Academy tier is the new branding for MLSN tier 2. Which is a step lower.

It is extremely weird to call Tier 2 ā€œacademyā€ when they revolve their season around HS soccer. Such an obvious marketing gimmick. Do they think parents are that stupid? Oh right, they are.

Agree those two are ding dongs but some of the MLSN changes, like taking almost any club that wants to join tier 2 and calling them academy seems pretty desperate too . Both are scrambling for prominence or grasping to maintain some existence in the alphabet soup leagues. Hard to imagine MLSN completely takes over for a sustained period of time. Lots of parents of top kids do not like their model and a surprisingly high number of talented kids especially at 13/14/15 have zero interest in playing professional. That MLS pipeline may be attractive to some but a lot of noise to others.

Right?! Especially since they are losing playing time to girls that are likely out of the same leagues. Meanless data point for the conclusions they’re trying to draw.
