Andreas - with the accent on the second syllable. Are people going to mispronounce this? |
We know an Andreas and I don't recall anyone having a problem saying it correctly. |
maybe the not-very-bright people. i work with an Andreas -- it's a cool name. |
Love the name. Some people will mispronounce, but most will get it right. |
I love it. Our family of freckly Irish couldn't pull it off, for for those families who can, it's great! |
I have good memories of a very cute german boy ![]() |
Very common in Scandinavia as well. All the people named Andeas I know are blonde and blue eyed. And cute. |
I really like that name. Go for it!! |
Really love it. If I could talk DH into it, I would. One thing that's great about Andreas is it works in so many countries. I think you could be either fair or dark and pull it off. |

People will mispronounce every single name out there. So don't base your decision on that. I like it. |
My nephew is Andres and gets the occasional mispronunciation, but he doesn't care (he's 17 now). Andreas seems easier than that... great name, go for it. |
I guess you tend to associate names with the people who have them. I know two guys named Andreas: one is a very hot soccer player I went to school with and the other is a hilarious German guy who makes me laugh every time I see him. So...if you could only guess, great name in my opinion! ![]() |
I think this is the first name thread in the history of DCUM with no negative reactions! congrats OP. you picked a winner. |
