Who did you think killed JonBenet?

Have they run a DNA sample through the Ancestry profiles? Isn't that how they caught the Golden State killer seems, more practical than playing detective as the family wants to do.

Also, the way Smit's family is going about it seems like there could be a huge risk that if the killer is found he will get off on a technicality due to their methods.

There is no evidence that she wrote the note.

There's also no evidence that she didn't, basically, it's inconclusive.

The things about this case that have always struck me as odd is the amount of ransom money being the exact amount as Jonh's bonus.

That the killer left the body to be found and covered up.

That the killer had a stun gun if we accept the marks are from that but had to improvise a method to murder and assault her with.

Dad went right to her body.

To answer the original question of this thread, while mom and dad may not have been the ones to physically kill her, they know who did.

^^^I don't think the dad went right to the body--they had been searching a couple hours and this was the third time searching the basement, wasn't it? It was a random closet that no one had checked because it was out of the way and not really used--or at least that's how I remember reading about it.

After a few hours when the ransom note deadline had passed, a detective asked him to go look, he immediately went to the body is how I remember it.

I think the parents & brother could have possibly been involved.

I also think it could have been a family friend, neighbor or an intruder.

Regardless I do not see anyone ever being prosecuted for this awful crime.

Only JonBenèt knows the identity.,,,

Once I read that letter I knew it was someone inside the home. You don't need to do much from there, but Burke would be my first suspect based on previous violent actions and problems he had.

The letter is the smoking gun. Someone entered the house then spent an hour writing the letter with Patsy's stationery and pen? Please.

That happened to speak like her, and mention the amount her DH's recent bonus, LOL.

There's no who done it.

Brother did it. Parents covered it up.

you have to remember in those days there was no direct deposit, so the bank teller who processed the deposit would have known, possibly other bank employees too. A dumb 20 yr old teller goes home and tells her boyfriend about it, and boom you have more suspects.

Yup, and no evidence of entry outside the house. So Patsy did the note, we just don’t know which of the family members killed her. Could have been any one of the three who hit her head then thought she was dead, but I agree it was most likely Burke followed by a panicked coverup.

There absolutely was direct deposit in those days. I had it at my job (cashier at a grocery store.)

I just. don't. buy that it was family. Burke was a kid--he would have spilled the beans by now. There's zero chance. a kid would have. done that or knew who did without telling someone by now. Kids have big flapping mouths.

Also, the detective who came out retirement to help with the case doesn't. think the family did it and that's enough for me That guy was a seasoned expert and knew what he was doing. The boulder police dept. was incompetent and incapable of solving the case.
